Hi Kinez101,
A couple of things, are you willing to split up the set? I'm very interested in the Sigma and would like an idea of your asking price for it. Secondly, I'm getting an "invalid album specified" error on your additional photo link.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you,
Cheers, dave

Feisol is one of the best kept secrets in Photography. I've had mine for 4 years now and have never regretted the purchase. If you want fancy colors look elsewhere, if you want a darn good tripod, you could do much worse.

I've had mine for almost 3 years and was my goto lens for a large bulk of that time frame. It was an amazing portrait lens with a smooth bokeh and equally at home in low light situations. It is one of those amazing values that any Pentax user should take a hard look at.

Good luck on the sale.

Wireless Flash Question - How to Make Main Flash Not Part of Exposure?

Again, if I'm not correct, then please feel free to correct someone else .... My K20d had the ability to set the the onboard flashes personality in wireless mode with a specific menu option. You could defeat the onboard flash and still fire off a properly setup 360 or 540 offboard flash. It had it's limitations of course ... it worked by IR and of course that really limits its effectiveness, but it worked. My K-3 has never worked for me in wireless P-TTL with offboard Pentax flashes and be able to defeat the onboard flash. I've read and tried just about everything and if there is a way, I'm not aware of it.

I have since purchased a set of Chinese manual triggers and a couple of powerful manual flashes, adopted the strobist approach to manual offboard flash, and never looked back.

All in all, this seems to be a step backwards. I've been a loyal Pentaxian since the early 70's and will probably die with one in my hand, but the dedicated flash system isn't even a close runner-up the competition. If Ricoh indeed plans on competing in today's DSLR market, it has got to bring our lighting system forward three decades or so.

I've got one on the way and just can't wait. All of your shots are just stunning and makes the wait just that much harder. After a couple of SDM headaches, I'm very ready for a different approach (albeit a DC motor) to quiet focusing. I hope to have some results here to share soon.

Cheers ...

I did manage to find the following at Fred Miranda, this may be what the seller is talking about. There is very little else I could find on the subject.

I have recently been troubleshooting a focusing problem with a used lens I recenly purchased (see Tonika 300mm thread) and discovered my inconsistent auto focusing problems were
due to lens backlash. One photo would focus in front of the target, the next behind.
I normally shoot, with my 7D, in Focus Live Mode, where the lens continually adjusts, looking for the best focus. I found that by changing to Focus Quick Mode, where the lens goes quickly to focus, seldomly changing direction, the effects of the lens backlash was minimized and acceptable focus is regularly obtained. I seem to get the best focus starting from infinity back rather than from near forward. This has been in my backyard, with a test setup, so I still have to check out the real world application.
Bottom line, if you use Focus Live Mode and you regularly miss focus (when you have done your part right) sometime in front and sometime behind, and suspect backlash as the culprit, you might try switching to Focus Quick Mode to see if this minimizes the problem.
