The DA*11-18 is a dream lens for sure. If funds allow I will most certainly be going for that. :)

Fantastic pictures! Looks like the gear really held up to the task. I have a question though, if I do get a job at McMurdo in the following year what gear would you recommend to go with a 1 camera setup (KP)? What lenses would you say on the inexpensive side of the scale would do well?

You'll be worrying about the snow being far too bright rather than making anything brighter. :p
See unlike other parts of the world, there will be tons of snow with very little cloud cover as Antarctica is incredibly dry.

When taking in to account your kit be sure to remember how incredibly windy it will be. It's not unlikely you will experience winds over 90 mph.

I meant in 2021. Thought I had mentioned it but I guess I accidentally omitted it. If it were this year I'd be sorely disappointed because there's no way I'd be able to get there.

McMurdo base is rather huge for an Antarctic base, so there's lots of menial jobs available for it. I'm willing to take anything for the opportunity.

Unfortunately it takes quite a few application cycles to be considered. Then you need to do undergo some pretty thorough health examinations, even as far as preemptively taking out wisdom teeth so they're not a problem.

I've been applying to work at McMurdo base for a while now to get an opportunity to go to Antarctica. I'm planning on avoiding a boat trip though.
There's a total solar eclipse on December 4th happening around there and I have every intention of trying to be there for it.
