I wonder if around 15mm this might work the K1 in FF mode... that would be really nice.. a 15mm 2.8 smaller than the 15-30mm that is big and heavy..

Totally..

IMO Ricoh could have so much potential with this camera if they keep adding features, that's a way to keep the camera alive meanwhile a new FF is release

yeah.. but AFAIK Precision have a minimun fee to fix a camera right? cuz i think that replacing the top plastic cover isnt that big enough and dont want to pay a lot for something that is kind of "easy" to fix..

i think that mean while i'll do a DIY fix.. and in case that i would sell it i'll send it...

I dont normally shoot receptions at 1.4 because the narrow DoF and everybody is always moving around.. but I do think that the camera takes a little time to focus at very dim light .. it could be "fix" if the AF Assist Lamp could trigger faster..

KP on Closeout at Adorama?!

KP is a nice camera.. but as we all know is not the K3ii replacement, and IMO the price was way to high for a camera that is not an APS-C "top of the line" like K3 were/is.. so maybe sales werent that good, not because of quality but because of price.. the new $950 price sounds much better than the original $1199.... but who knows..

You can even use your cellphone as an IP remote if you have one with an IP port and download the app.. its actually pretty usable.

ohhh but K5 cant be compared with K1.. K1 is much much much better than K5 in every aspect.. Low light focusing with the K5 is a pain in the ass.. K1 is very good.. not THAT fast.. but very good.. when the camera triggers the assist lamp is very very fast.

AF is reliable.. VERY reliable.. what we are saying is that at dim light the camera try to fucus by it self instead of using the Assist Lamp.. so it takes an extra second to do that.. but once is lock the focus is great.. I do shoot RAW on slot 1 and JPG on slot 2.. and buffer gets fill too.. but i think it also depends of your wife shooting style.. if she likes to keep her finger press for a long time that might be a problem.. but if not, she will be great with K1.

K1 focusing at dim light is very acurate.. BUT.. takes time to lock focus.. I wish that the camera could trigger the AF assit lamp faster to help focus faster, especially at weddings..

Besides that, the camera performs great, buffer fills fast as somebody else told you so be aware of that if you trigger to many frames. 24-70 is an awsome lens, sharp and versatile, Tamron 70 200 is also an awsome lens ( kind of loud ) but very fast for a screw drive lens, 100mm macro will do some nice details of the rings, etc...

Good luck with your wedding ;)

It also depends of the shooting style.. ofcourse for some people the way that K1 behaves is not the ideal for how they shoot, and thats ok.. but for some other K1 is a really good camera to have, for example i dont hit the buffer at all ( but thats because i dont do that many FPS ).. the one thing that i struggle with the K1 is when focusing at dim light the camera takes a good time to do it and doesnt trigger the assit lamp until is TOO dark, i wish that it could be triggered sooner so the foculs can be faster.

K1+grip?

I used to use grip with my K5ii and K3.. but with the K1 i havent really need it.. the normal grip is good enough for me and adding extra weight is something to think about.. K1 by itself feels really nice.
