stabilized mirrorless bodies for mounting my M42 lenses?

Based on what I've read, it would appear that all of the criteria's are met.

With that said, I think it's worth considering as much versatility as possible with a new body. ie, with a K-01, a shooter would be limited to K-mount. Which is not to say that it can't do M42, that it will do just fine. And so the question as to whether or not the OP could benefit from mounting pretty much any MF lens in existence may be worth considering as well.

PS. as mentioned previously, this is what motivated me to invest in a mirrorless system. To which I'd add, was the best move I ever did personally in terms of cross-system compatibility. The idea we can pick-up and use any lens, from pretty much any system with focus peaking and image stabilization often seems too good to be true :)

I've never owned one, though I was under the impression that it used a k-mount?
If so, then it won't likely be the most versatile in terms of lens compatibility. ie, since I moved to mirrorless, my MF lens choices have completely opened-up. Be it, k-mount, m42, m39, f-mount, Canon etc. - anything goes type thing

stabilized mirrorless bodies for mounting my M42 lenses?

As much as a hate to admit it, the camera industry appears to have become rather expensive over the course of the years. I remember buying my very first Pentax camera for less than 1100.00 with two lenses. Whereas my latest mirrorless camera's set me back nearly 4000CAD.

With that said, I think the OP will have a tough time finding a mirrorless with IS for much less. Could be wrong, though I'm thinking 900USD will likely be about as low as it could go without compromising on some feature or another.

I've seen a6500's go for around 900USD on eBay - might make a relatively low cost MF body

ie, does this mean if a person asks questions relative to any of those topics, they will be banned?

This looks reminiscent of a processing artifact. Either in the RAW deconvolution stages, or in the camera NR processing.

Whatever the case, I wouldn't call it until it's been confirmed across difference RAW processors. Otherwise this could likely be software based.

Tony has been a known Pentax fan for quite some time. Though this seems more like expressing disappointment with Pentax's choice of product revision and marketing.

I personally love the concept, but don't find the technology very appealing at this time. With that said, my hope is that we will see it improve to the point of being completely seamless in future camera's.

Also love that second shot btw.

DPR Article on Pixel Shift

The funny about developing technologies such as this is that it comes with what I'd call an adjustment period. That is to say that while DPReview may seem biased at this point in time, I'd add that we can trace back the development of their stance as they came to understand the technology and it's limitations. Which I believe could be likened to a learning process. In short, when DPReview tested this on the K-3 and eventually the K-1, it becomes apparent that the reviewer was not happy with the results. To which I'd add, they tried taking various images in various conditions with limited success. Not based on the camera of course, but more specifically, on part of the users and their expectations. And so the response came across negatively as the reviewer was left wanting more(or less) ie, more benefits and less artifacts

Fast forward up until today and the reviewer in question now has established an experience to work with. Granted, the a7r III is nowhere near as sophisticated as the K-1, in where the reviewer didn't know what to look for. And guess what... we can clearly see that experience put to use in his latest review. ie, the reviewer set-up his test shots to maximize on the limitations of the technology(stills) as he then go-on to compare the results against his own past experiences.

Which leads me to contemplate the following;
Is it fair? Hardly
Is it common? Most definitely

Having said all that, my take on this is that Pixel Shift technology is here to stay and that Pentax has the upper hand. And while it may feel as though the K-1 got a bum-wrap as the control. It remains that the next iteration to come-out of Pentax's doors will go unnoticed - this only works once

Oddly enough, the chart seems blank when I follow the link to the page.

With that said, I'm not doubting the benefits personally, but more specifically, its feasibility. iow. I just don't think the practical applications aren't broad enough to conclude it be anything more than a novelty at this stage.
However, and with that in mind, I could see this tech. being far more useful if it could be executed in under 1/10th of a second(for example). Which would be imo. a practical threshold where it would count the most. Such as; landscape, fine art photography, studio work(none still) etc.

In it's current form(on any body) this comes across as a novelty more than anything at this point. And so my guess is that Sony is doing whatever it can to try and remain competitive on paper.

The a7r III brings numerous improvements over the now older a7r II
With that said, I think we can cut Sony some slack on their first attempt at pixel shift technology. Granted, it won't likely be anything more than a marketing novelty, but it does however, show that Sony is paying attention to what's going on outside of their own product lines.

My guess is that they'll either continue to refine this feature along with their mirrorless bodies or give up on it altogether in favor of higher sensor performances in the future.

PS. having played with pixel shift, I can't bring myself to justify it's use as anything other than a novelty in any camera at this current time. - and I'm a huge fan

That doesn't work worth a damned - trust me I've tried

The closest we ever had to free an independent pixel shift solution was a software called PhotoAcute which didn't seem to take hold. Likely due to the technical demands that came with using it - requiring lens profiling and extreme processing requirements; minimum of 6 RAW images + processing type thing. - Needless to say, it was quite tedious and the results were rather mixed

Whatever the case, it just doesn't seem like there's any viable stand-alone pixel shift method out there atm. Though I'm confident that many modern camera's using could easily support such a feature by combining internal and external functions to accomplish this.
