Thanks, that kind of fringing is expected I think. Maybe the severity is also a copy by copy basis too?

How bad is the purple fringing? Have any example photos to show? I was thinking of picking this lens up but I personally can't stand purple fringing

Item for Sale
Pentax K200D with Grip!

Asking Price
150.00 USD

Item Location
Queen Creek (United States)

Item Description
K200D with low shutter count (under 4000). In excellent condition, works great. Comes with grip, and this camera runs off AA batteries which makes it very flexible. I have had good results using rechargeable Eneloops. Has the 10mp CCD sensor that many people love. Only selling because I have too much camera gear. A body cap and camera strap is included, and Sanyo Eneloop batteries/ charger can be included too for $10 more. Just an FYI I have had 100% positive feedback on ebay since 2009! Contact me if interested!

The ads only show up if you don't have an account, I believe, so when family is clicking through your photo stream and they aren't logged in they may suddenly see a strange ad and think it was a photo you took.

K-3ii to D500... Is this the right move?

Can you show us an example of a "keeper" and a "non keeper." Full size image uncropped and before being edited would help me see what you are going for. Rent the Nikon combo you are thinking about before making such an expensive change and see if it will do the job. Also rent the Pentax 150-400. I've never used the D500 but on paper it doesn't seem much more different than the K3. Looks like the D500 has a little less megapixels for cropping, and only marginally better iso performance.

Item for Sale
Super Takumar 50mm f1.4

Asking Price
$80.00 USD

Item Location
Queen Creek (United States)

Item Description
A very nice Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 with an m42 to K mount adapter. The lens focuses smooth like butter, and other than some internal dust from old age and the typical slight Takumar yellowing associated with this lens it has clear optics and takes great photos. The adapter has the locking tab removed so that the adapter comes off along with the lens when dismounted. This means it is easier to remove the lens since it doesn't lock on, so you just have to be a little more careful when using it since its held on by friction. I prefer using all my Takumars this way as do many others on this forum but if you do not then I'd suggest buying a new adapter since I can't find the little tab that I removed.
Selling for $80

I ship to Continental US only. Though I have no feedback here I do have a 100% positive history on eBay since 2009. Thanks for looking!

"The Spot setting is an autofocus mode that detects the in-focus point using a single AF sensor positioned at the center of the image field.
For PENTAX digital SLR cameras marketed after the PENTAX K-3, the Spot setting detects an area approximately 30 percent narrower than that of the Select setting, which uses a set of middle AF sensors in autofocus operation."

Does this mean the K3 is not included as in does not have added precision with spot af?

I realize this may be frustrating but if it is of any comfort to you, as I've said earlier in this thread, the front elements can be very scratched and dirty before any image quality is degraded. I can't imagine that is going to affect much of anything but send it back again if you can't live with it or consider buying used where you can see the actual product photos before purchase.

Because I tested the 77mm side by side with the 70mm in the shop I bought it from and found out what this guy said below:

And it was overcast and indoors when trying these lenses out so purple fringing was not evident in my samples.

Yes. It gets better as you stop down and for me f2.8 is usually 100% solid. You just gotta be really careful with wide open shots, and even stopped down a bit can still be a problem. One time I can really recall was a portrait outside of a girl who was wearing a black shirt with white polka dots and there were very distracting purple circles around the dots and when I tried desaturating the borders of the dots, they still looked pretty bad and the edges were noticeably distorted.
