For me leaving the burst rate the same and doing nothing with the video leaves me waiting for K3 mk III and hoping it matches up to the Nikon with 4k. I would have upgraded to the K1 when it came out but for those reasons.

HI All I know there are posts on this somewhere but can't find anything in using the search feature. I have DA* 60-250 about 3yrs old but with probably less than 500 shots. The auto focus quit working yesterday it works fine on manual focus. I have tried other lenses and they function fine. I have a K5 nothing seems wrong with the camera the lens is set to auto focus as is the camera and other auto lenses work fine. Any suggestions also if needed where would I send it to get it fixed. Thanks Mike

tilt screen (should be automatic based on K1 and 01) 4k video w/mechanical stabilization. Up grade pixel shift to match K1, faster burst.

It seems certainly on it's face that the photog was most likely in the right and the couple did set out to ruin her. That being said... in response to several posters and from my own personal experience I see it ever so slightly different from others who have posted.
1. first off I have noticed an attitude on this forum from many (not all) that the photog can do no wrong if they have trouble it is always the other guys fault.
2. As it relates to the media - one has to "Prove Malice" or at least gross negligence. In almost all cases this is near impossible to prove, a retraction and apology is about the best you will ever get. And it sounds like the media did attempt to cover themselves by correcting the story.
3. Sure the couple should have known better than to post about how they intended to ruin the photog. Really stupid on their part and it was probably what cost them the law suit.
4. $200+ is not a petty amount at least not to me, so if any of you out there really thinks it's so petty send me a PM and I will give you my address so you can send the check. Also if $200 is such a petty amount why did the photog choose to die on that hill, she will probably never see her money and she is now out of the business. I do agree that if the money was agreed upon she had every right to it.
5. Where I live and where my kids live (one in Raleigh one in Chicago, one in Madison Wi) they do not give all the photos and will never give a large enough file to print from. You get a certain agreed upon number to be printed 80 or whatever is to go into the album and then also send files large enough for using on a computer and this number is never all that were taken. I also realize some photogs may do this. However why would a photog send ALL of them anyway since most of them are going to be bad, pick out the top several hundred that are properly exposed and look good and send those for review unless the customer really wants everything. I certainly wouldn't want my worst stuff out there.
6. Although most wedding photographers are good honest people there is a rather large portion that overcharge and underperform while expecting thousands in payment. I also understand that it is not uncommon for a photog to get stiffed so they must protect themselves.
7. As a father of the bride we had a highly recommended photog who by 9pm had sneaked enough drinks to be quite buzzed, by 10pm a guest who was an artist managed to have her blouse unbuttoned almost to her waist for a portrait session. At which time I told her she was done. Fortunately she took enough good shots prior to this so I wouldn't have to sue her.

You might also look into the rules of thirds and even better the golden ratio on youtube. I really like the B&W against the gate. Maybe lose the shoes. Those big pumps don't seem to fit in any of the pics they show up in. But I think you are off to a great start. Lots of good stuff about this on Youtube. Posing etc. much of the other stuff can be fixed in post.

listen to Nass he is the Pentax forums macro guru.
for me the 90mm Tamron macro 2.8 is great if I want more reach I add the Pentax 1.4 multiplier. For further away and slightly larger macro shots I will use the 60-250 f4 with 1.4 multiplier but this is a rather pricey setup.

Hey Steve
I always thought noise was concentrated in the darker areas of a shot not random. And grain was the same all over the pict just not so obvious in some parts.

I live in Michigan and am very aware of the attitude about bringing guns across the border. Usually you will get asked several times the same question "are you bringing in any guns" "no" then again and again until you want to say what part of "no" didn't you understand. Once on a ski coaching trip to MT. Tremblant loaded with ski gear in and on top of the car I was asked four times at which point after saying nicely "no sir" I just said sir if you would like I can turn the car around go back home and cancel my reservations at Tremblant as well as the racers dinner we have planned there if that makes you feel better, he then waived me through, seems he didn't want to lose the tourist $. Don't get me wrong I love Canada and really like Canadians but sometimes you guys really come across as though you think we in America are less civilized than you. And you did because he already said he left his guns at home when he went to Mexico (he obviously checks out the laws when he travels) which and you just had to say, don't bring your guns to Canada. One sentence no explanation.

well that makes more sense, your first post left me/us the impression you were home and left the guns in the car. I know I was being more PC than I wanted to be but felt you didn't need a bunch of sh__ thrown at you considering what happened.
I agree when you are at someone else's house you may have to do things differently even if you don't like it.

good luck

Well that sucks in a major way. It is amazing how fast they can do something like that. Bolt cutters and pry bars can make things go very quick. i would bet they had no idea what they were getting until they were well away from your place. Going forward, as a former LEO, I would advise never leave firearms in a vehicle for very long unless there was no other choice, you can't use them if you don't have them and now they probably have already sold them assuming big city. I certainly wish you well and hope you get your gear back,
and they go away for a long time.

you have a lot more guts than I do when dealing with this kind of thing. For me if it were under warrantee why wouldn't someone use it and to give up warrantee on the rest of the camera just so you can do it yourself seems like a lot to give up.
As to why they won't sell parts for out of warrantee work I would suspect that Precision and others like it do not want the competition and Pentax gives in to them, even if you only fix your own stuff, they want You to pay Them.

In your situation as you describe your needs I'd get the K3II it's less than half the price of the KI and is a big upgrade from the K5
