Landscape Parc Glynllifon, Autumn 2015

All the colours are natural, with saturation boosted by no more than 15% in Lightroom. My aim was to capture the Autumnal colours, and my timing seemed spot on for a change ;)

Thanks all.

As Spring is upon us, here's some images taken during the Autumn (01/11/15).
They were taken at a country park 15 mins from my home.

Thanks Susan, one think with owning a dog, they have to be walked. And a great opportunity to explore with the camera.

Thanks CreationBear, can't say I've had the privilege of walking along the banks of either the Banwy or Usk.

Thanks Kerrowdown, you're not wrong with regards to it being a paradise for the dog. Toby, my 3 year old Spaniel/Collie cross, loves it here (then again, where doesn't he love when it comes to a walk) :D

Had a few days off work a few weeks ago, and decided to return for a walk along the banks of the River Dwyfor in Llanystumdwy (the walk starts right by the grave of the British Prime Minister, David Lloyd George 1916-1922, to date the only Welshman to have held the position of Prime Minister).

My aim was to get some autumnal colours, here's a selection.
All K5 and Sigma 18-50 TAV mode F11 & 0.8".

Agree totally regarding the Sigma 18-50 f2.8
This and the 10-20 usually go with me everywhere.

Thanks all.

This is part of my daily (or nightly), dog walking route. Known locally as Dyffryn Mawr (roughly translated as large valley), it's a great example of a glaciated V-shaped valley.

It was very gloomy when these were taken, with the camera perched on a gate's pillar.

K5 and Sigma 18-50 and Cokin GND.

Quite correct in that the highlights and shadows were tweaked quite a bit in Lightroom to obtain the "desired" results. Even though in shots 3 & 4 a GND filter was used, some work was still required to obtain sufficient detail in the sky.

Kerrowdown, agree totally with what you're saying. It was just too rough to get safely nearer the sea.

Been a long while since I've posted anything, here are some images taken during the all too frequent rough weather we had in the UK over the Christmas period.

Got a bit too close to the action in #3, resulted in very wet feet but did manage to stay upright :(

Tre Ceiri is an Iron Age hill fort located on the top of one of the mountains overlooking my home village (Trefor).

The remains of 150 stone huts can still be seen, a really fascinating place and well worth a visit.

The ruins of stone huts aren't very photogenic, but here's a selection.

1 A view down the Lleyn Peninsula

2 A view towards Snowdonia

3 A similar view across Caernarfon Bay

4 A stone hut with Mynydd Canol and yr Eifl

5 Stone hut #2

6 Stone hut #3

7 Stone hut - inside

8 Another view towards Snowdonia

1-3 Sigma 18-50, the others the 10-20.

Thanks kerrowdown, yes you are correct in that we are very lucky to have such scenery on our doorstep :)

Thanks PJ1, plenty of great walking to be had in this part of the world (no, I don't work for the Welsh tourist board).
Could do with some Oz weather at the moment here, though ;)

Thanks Susan

Thanks Dave

A few weeks ago I met-up with some fellow Pentaxians in Snowdonia (for me, only a 15 mile drive).
The morning was spent around the Anglesey Barracks, derelict accomodation from the old Dinorwic slate quarry, pictures here https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/223935-landscape-anglese...snowdonia.html

The afternoon was spent in the Ogwen Valley, here's a selection

The granite quarry in my village (about 15 miles from where these were taken), has also gone the same way, closing in the early 1970's :(
