K-1 Card Say's "Not Formated" after downloading photos in a card reader

I often have the same problem when I download images from my K1 Mark II SD cards to my iMac using Lightroom. When I put the card back into the camera almost everytime I get a card not formatted message. I do lock the card everytime before putting it into my computer now in order to prevent corruption of data. I think it is a lightroom problem more than anything,

FA* 300mm f4.5 vs. DA*300mm f4 - which is better full-frame?

I have the FA* and love the lens. It is heavy (lots of metal) but it works nicely with my K1 Mark II as well as my K3 Mark II. The lens is very sharp and compact. The biggest issues would be it is not WR and the lens hood. The lens hood is the weakest link. The lugs on the inside of the lens hood wear out causing the hood to dislodge from the lens too easily when in the field. On more than one occasion I lost the hood and had to backtrack on the trail to find it. Replacement lugs are not available and the only option that I found was to replace the hood. After two years of searching, I found an unused one on eBay at an acceptable price. Now when I store the lens I keep the hood loose not connecting it to the body in order to reduce the lugs from premature wear.

Olympus Leaving Digital Camera Market?

With a headline like that Olympus could be leaving the digital camera market, reports say - DIY Photography I find it quite surprising, especially with so many people switching to mirrorless over the past two years. I don't know, but it seems strange that with so many Olympus cameras out there now (probably 30% of our camera club has switched to Olympus)

I find it surprising that the company claims it is losing money. Perhaps they are trying to do too much too fast before Canikon catches up.

I have toyed with the idea of looking at mirrorless, but a 4 thirds format doesn't really inspire me. If I were to switch from either my APSC or Full Frame Pentax cameras I would more than likely stick with the same sensor size.

You did better than me shooting through the window. Today I had a racoon in the birdfeeder and I photographed him, but the glare was a bit too much and the shot wasn't worth keeping.

SD Card Issue with Lightroom imports on K1 mark II

So I just inserted a 32gb card (Sandisk Ultra) and I did a burst of about 10 images and then inserted the card into the imac and imported the images with no problem. I took the card out and put it back in the camera and there were no problems. The images were still on the card and it was readable.

So it seems that the problems that I am having are indeed with my 64gb cards which are Sandisk Extreme Pro. Hmm makes one wonder.

That's what I have been doing and will continue to do so. I haven't checked it with the 32gb cards as yet, but may try today.

SD Card Issue with Lightroom imports on K1 mark II

I do appreciate these responses. It is a consistent problem on the K1 II. It seems to be only my 64gb cards in my K1 II. I'll try the SD Memory Card Formatter to start with and see if that makes a difference. What I have been doing in the meantiime is locking the cards before inserting them in order to prevent any loss of data before I am ready to format the cards in the camera. Will let you know if the SD memory Card Formatter does the trick.

---------- Post added 02-24-2019 at 02:25 PM ----------

So I did download the SD Formatter and gave it a try. I did the reformat and then put the card into the camera reformatted it again and then took a burst of test shots. Put the card into the imac and it downloaded the images into lightroom. When I removed the sd card from the mac, and put the card into the camera the screen said card not formatted. I don't believe this is a static issue. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the K3II. Just tried it and everything was fine.

I've noticed that after I import images from my SD cards into Lightroom that when I put the SD card back into the camera I get a warning that the SD card is not formatted. I don't recall getting this warning or this problem in the past? Is this camera related or is there some configuration issue with my Lightroom that I need to adjust?

I had a problem with the viewfinder fogging up after a full day in downpouring rain. I figured I would have to send the camera in for repair, but I was surprised after a couple of days with the camera sitting on a warm shelf in our travel trailer the viewfinder cleared up and I haven't had an issue since. Just got back from -37 temperatures in the Yukon and the camera worked wonderfully well. Batteries on the other hand were the biggest challenge in the cold weather.

It works, especially in low light situations. Takes time to create, but good news is you can do more than one at a time. I tried five images st a time and it wiporked great. Takes about a minute per image so patience is a must

For my Sigma model there is no TC that will work with it. Lens just hunts around almost forever before it locks and then it starts searching right away again.

I'm really hoping for one to come out as it would be my next lens purchase. The problem of course is that if it comes out, I may just have to sell my Sigma 70-200 and buy the Pentax 70-200.

11-18 and revamped 35mm F2 on january 31?

I think the leaving out of the "D" moniker is because the lens is not motorized. Rather it is just an update of an older FA lens. To do otherwise would result in a lot of criticism. This way the lens is released with updates for it to work well with the larger sensors.

I will be interested to see how the FA 35 performs with the HD Coating. It is fast enough to use for my Jazz photos. I'm also looking forward to seeing the bokeh on this lens. Its size is nice. Easy to carry the lens in one's pocket.

Pixel shift and Lightroom CC

It seems that Lightroom maybe processing Raw Pixelshift images with recent updates. In the past my raw pixel shift images on my K1 Mark II were read as 45 mb, but now the ones I shot yesterday read at just under 200mb. I processed them, moved them to photoshop made a few more adjustments and then saved them as psd files and they saved at almost 200mb. I plan on more testing, but was wondering if others have noticed this.

Do Photographers Make Good Money Selling Prints On The Internet??

During the past two years, I have made about $600 US selling my images through Eyeem. Not a lot of money, but each month i receive a payment into my Paypal Account. I upload the images and Eyeem markets them. I get 50% of the sale. I tried selling my images online via other systems in the past and was very disappointed with almost zero sales. At least with the system I'm using now, I do get a small money stream. I use the money to upgrade my software.

I can't believe that Sony would do this, sounds to me more like a hack by someone. I've tried it and it indeed takes me to the Sony site. interesting to see how long it takes for Pentax to respond to this.

K3ii replacement

I use both my K3 and my K1 in the studio quite frequently where I have a full strobe setup. I'm more interested in when I am using off camera flash for when I'm needing to use a softbox or reflectors in an outside or in a situation where bringing the large studio setup is not practical. Often when I go to someones home with my flashes I need to setup two flashes one for a reflector and the other with a portable softbox. Yes a cactus 6 would work, but I would like to be able to do it without having to purchase add ons

being able to program the flash and multiple flashes from the camera would be very useful especially when a flash is located inside a softbox.

Along with a much-improved autofocus system, I would like to see auto calibration for lenses, a much larger number of focus selection points and the ability to select groupings from 5, 9, 12 points etc., higher frame rate, improved dynamic range and improvements to the flash system more in line with CANIKON. As for lenses I would like to see a DFA 300 f2.8
