Make sure your camera strap fits over your parka (my first one didnít). Your lens choices sound perfect to me.

Iíve had no problems with my K-30 shooting in Alaska, including winter. I try not to change lenses until the camera warms back up when I go inside but other than that.

Iím definitely excited to see the results of the new ektachrome. It looks more neutral and natural than Provia 100F from what Iíve seen so far but I admit that I havenít seen much yet.

Life has gotten too busy, give up film photography or store it for a VERY long time?

I love shooting film but like you Iíve found itís work flow doesnít fit with my current life flow. I have no room for a darkroom in my house, and no time to really use it if I had the space, with trying to raise and spend time with my two kids and my wife, working full time, taking care of the house, etc.

What digital kit do you have? Maybe sell that for or towards full-frame body that will work with your M and A lenses, either a Sony A7 or a Pentax K1. Or compare your aps-c files to your film shots and realize youíre actually probably ahead quality wise with the little sensor if you have comparably good lenses for it... I did.

The End of the DSLR?

If anything Pentax better situated to take care of a drastically smaller DSLR market than Canon or Nikon. Economies of scale and all, Canon and Nikon have to make a lot of cameras and sell a lot to stay afloat or at least Nikon does since thatís their primary business to stay afloat or at least Nikon does since thatís their primary business. All Pentax has to do is maintain their current volume and gain marketshare.

A simpler camera

I personally would love a digital Olympus XA. An actual 35mm f2.8 (or APS-C equivalent) manually focused rangefinder, or at least an AF camera with an optical viewfinder, that fits in my pocket and whoís battery lasts forever. It only needs one central focus point (or the rangefinder patch), manually selected apertures with automatic shutter speeds, leaf shutter so itís quiet, and most importantly pocketable.

So far the Ricoh GR is closest to what I want, so it might come for Christmas.

For my DSLR? Give me Hyper-Program and Iím pretty happy.

Help! I thought about buying a (film) Leica!

I find rangefinders to be much simpler and less distracting to shoot than SLRís. Iíve thus-far avoided buying an M but only because Iím usually unable to comfortably fund the purchase when I start to get weak. There was a mechanically sound but ugly M2 in my local camera shop for $500 last summer, I donít know if Iíll resist the next time one comes along... especially since he still has the Canon 35mm f1.5 LTM lens there to go with it.

Sounds like youíve got it to me.

Program->MTF means your set to prioritize the lenses MTF curve. Changing the shutter speed or aperture means youíre overriding the cameras choice and are now in shutter or aperture priority respectively. Hitting the green button will bring you back to the program->MTF settings.

To change mount, or not to change mount?
Posted By skierd

As long as the registration distance is longer, it doesnít matter if you add the distance to the back of the lens or the front of the camera. Either way youíll get infinity focus.

Does anyone made an adapter for that lens (and whatís the mount called?) to Pentax K or, more likely, m42?
