K-7 Shutter Life

Hey guys - quick question;

I'm looking at buying a K-7 and if I buy it used, I want to know what amount of shutter actuations is still considered in a "good" or a "new"ish range. I've seen numbers all over the place, that still claim to be "new" so its confusing.

Thanks guys

Ah yeah, the lens is a 75-260mm f/4.5. I'm actually curious as to how it looks on a digital. Got any sample shots you could PM me?

Haha yeah, seeing as my K100d is now stuck as a 35mm camera, I've learned to check before I do.

Quick question about screwmount lenses

Hey guys. I recently picked up two screwmount lenses. Now, I have the adapter I need to throw it on my K series body, but I'm worried about this little pin thing thats sticking out. I've heard freaky stories about old lenses getting stuck in bodies because of some pin and I'm not sure which one it is. So, I've enclosed a photo and I'm hoping someone can let me know if I should be worried about this little guy or not.

"Pros" talking trash about Pentax?

[/LIST]Perfect list, couldn't have said it better myself. I began with a Panasonic that was given to me at a young age before I got my Pentax, and I loved the fact that I could change the aspect ratio. I also liked that when focusing, I could move the focus box around using the arrow keys, so I could select exactly what I wanted to be in and out of focus. I would absolutely LOVE the WI-FI for Pentax, I've looked into wireless transfer before, but it'd be nice to have it built in.

I think that alot of these arguments come down to the maturity level of the people involved. I'm 18, and I've seen both ends of the argument from my friends.

I have a friend (Canon User) who swears by Canon and refuses to hear anything other than stuff about Canon. I've even offered to let him shoot with my K20D and he won't touch the thing. He says that it doesn't matter what Pentax produces, Canon bodies and lenses (ha!) will always be better. Some people just don't listen, and its pointless to try and argue. Let them do their thing, its all about the final product anyways.

On the other hand, I have a very good friend who uses Nikon. He's a bit more level headed and off to one of the finest photography universities in the world in September. He swears by Nikon just because its what was introduced to him as a child (same with me for Pentax I suppose) but admits that our Limiteds have a lot of Nikons beat. So much infact, that after using my DA* 50-135, he went out and purchased one for himself (and adapted it onto his Nikon).

Yes, Canikon has us beat in some areas, but a good shot is a good shot, regardless of what its taken with.

Anyone heard anything about this/used it ever? I found a really great price on one that I'm debating picking up, but I wouldn't mind hearing some reviews first.

Any recommendations on an inexpensive portrait lens?

Yeah I'm thinking of doing 50mm 1.7 or 1.4. M or A, I haven't decided yet. Depends on price. I've just bought so many lenses this month including the DA*50-135 that I'm not trying to spend too much more on lenses.

Anyways, anyone selling any of those lenses, now would be a good time to chime in:)

Sorry to gravedig this thread but I'm in the same position and I'm debating between a Helios 58mm f/2, a Pentax 50mm f/1.7, and a Pentax 50mm f/1.4. Any suggestions?

Technically, yes. Although, if the shipper were to declare it as a ""gift" with a value of like "$10" then it would make it through customs with no problems.
