I bought a K-1 e-book yesterday. Am I able to get a refund on that if I switch to this $55 deal (what I should have done first off)? :)

Fantastic shot lightvox. So, that's with the P67 55mm, or something else?

I must say that of the 4-5 P67 lenses I have that the SMC 55 f4 is my favourite.

Thanks for your comment.

In fact the rose shot is heavily cropped, as I realised that the RH rose was not in focus. Here is the full image (just uploaded :) ):

Welcome to the forum lightvox. I also shot with an M9 until recently and somewhat regret selling it to buy an M240, apart from the better high ISO performance and versatility with live-view.

I intended to sell my P645D, having bought a K-1 about a year ago. I also now shoot P67 film, having bought many P67 lenses to use with the 645.

This thread has made me hesitate on my intent, particularly as I've just shot a few images here in the Australian Spring and I'm loving the results. Perhaps I should sell my P67 II film camera instead ( I also have a somewhat dodgy P6x7 MLU as a backup).

Here are two from today, using the SMC version of the P67 105 f/2.4 with a polariser:

Ivanvernon is correct, Image B is the P645D photo. I agree that P645 and P67 lenses are great to use with the K-1, as indeed are P67 lenses with the P645!

Image B: P645D, A75 f/2.8 at f11

Image A: K-1, FA77 f/1.8 Ltd at f11.

I believe for the Image A / B test I copied the white balance and tint values from the P645D shot to the K-1 (in Lightroom). Despite that, I prefer the blue sky in the P645D image.

Full size images are using WB as shot.

My fear that I would not use my P645D after buying the K-1 are largely proven, however it's still a pleasure to use the 645D.

Ok, I used my P645D for the first time in many months yesterday.

Here are two images.

Which one is taken with the P645D?

Thanks pinholecam on this thread (and elsewhere) for extolling the virtues of Raw Therapee. I just downloaded 5.1 and used it to process the image below.

Thoughts on the 67II

That changeover price for your 16-35 sounds very good to me.
I started with a cheap 67 with mirror lock-up, loving the experience so much that I upgraded to a 67 II. I haven't regretted the upgrade although the financial investment is about 4x the original.

My rationale for the upgrade to the 67 II was driven by the matrix metering and the easier to use mirror lock-up button. The MLU function is a must-have feature when looking for a 67 model IMO.

I have no real editing device with me except for rudimentary sw available via a tablet running Windows 10 - not mine to keep; as such I am posting in-camera jpeg output files only, with minor PP via Windows 'Photos'.

Trying out some pixel shifted shots yesterday at a nature reserve. I used Motion Compensation as the water was often a little disturbed, by rare platypus, or by wind.

As expected, attempts at processing using ACR did not give good results, with clear colour issues in areas of disturbed water. Digital camera utility did seem to cope well with most of the movement.

I output 16-bit AdobeRGB TIF files from DCU and imported them into Capture One Pro 9.2, with only minimal further processing, and then C1Pro's claimed improved re-sizing algorithm (inherent to any of its size-reduced output recipes) to produce the 1200w jpgs for Flickr upload.

This first one is using a P645 300/4 ED(IF) lens, with P645-PK adapter.

I think you will love the SMC 28 f3.5, based on my own very limited experience so far ( I have owned mine for about 2 weeks, but have only shot with it maybe 10 times).

I received my K-1 today, so perhaps this post will be indicative of new enthusiasm, rather than any worthwhile images. I’m very impressed so far.

One of the first 4-5 shots I've taken with my K-1, received this morning; using my legacy SMC M 50 f1.7, owned since 1981. Wide-open, SOOC PEF-> jpg, except for some highlight control and cropping.

SOOC except for crop and h'light reduction by David McI, on Flickr

In my fairly limited exploration today, I found that I often needed lots of -ve exposure compensation when shooting legacy lenses outdoors, like the P645 A75/2.8, or my Vivitar (Komine) Series 1 70-210/2.8-4.0 in native PKA fit. I measured WB outdoors using a ColorChecker Passport card and it was close enough to 5000K to use this Kelvin setting in later shots (also left for indoors shots too).

Some legacy lenses are not performing very well with flare and so on, however it could also be the Kipon P645-PK adapter. Although it cost about A$160 it’s not a genuine Pentax one and there may be internal reflections occurring.

This one focused on the green display characters using live view. A75 f2.8 wide-open

Yes, my conclusion also. The Kipon one works quite well. I've only received my camera today so it's a bot early for me to draw clear conclusions however it may be permitting some internal reflections, although if so it's very directionally-dependant.

I've only just noticed this thread and I find myself faced with a similar issue, albeit my K-1 has not been despatched yet.

I recently sold off a Sony A7R and its FE55 f1.8 lens. I didn't drop much on the lens at all given rising retail prices, so I made about $400 short of the new K-1 price from those sales. I've also had a 5D Mk III in the past so I have been used to FF DSLRs.

My 645D purchase 2nd hand about a year ago was a deviation from my smaller/lighter trend, but not one that I've regretted for an instant.
My plan with the K-1 is to try and persevere with legacy PK lenses, 645 and even 67 lenses using the Kipon 645 - PK adapter. Mind you I've already broken that intent by ordering a used FA31 f1.8 from Adorama, having heard from a friend how stellar that lens is and also viewing many images from it.

Despite probably being able to get A$2500 - 3000 from selling my 645D, I'm tempted to keep it. I much preferred the images I get from it to much of the A7R output and that's a very similar sensor (if not identical) to the K-1. Sculptormic replied to me that he believes the K-1 output surpasses the A7R's, so I'm looking froward to testing that.

Like you Matt, my thoughts run to the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm if I want anything ultra-wide and I'm certainly looking forward to trying astro-photography with this new camera.
