K-x vs K10D ISO comparison test photos

The K10D shows better contrast and details. Maybe it is just the better whitebalance. Or maybe the lens was misfocused?

Wow. The video makes this a very hard to resist product for me. Its only a matter of time before other manufacturers introduce a similar feature (hopefully with AF).

First 2-3 photos look a little too soft. Looks like focusing error, or camera shake.

Did Olympus, Minolta & Canon have a common lens mount?

No. They are all very different. Actually all three had atleast two different mounts (for MF and AF) each.

For Sale - Sold: Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV film scanner

I am selling a Konica Minolta Scan Dual IV film/slide scanner for sale. The scanner is in excellent condition, and comes with original box, manuals, film holders etc. The scanner has not seen too much use (~20-30 rolls at most).

The only minor flaw is that the AC adapter had a blown capacitor that was replaced. The adapter is separate from the scanner itself, and you could very easily replace it with a generic adapter if needed. The adapter itself works perfectly though, it is just a bit scuffed from opening/closing it.

I am asking for $250+shipping (ebay prices seem to range between $250 and $420). I can accept non-cc paypal payments. I am relatively new on this forum, but have bought/sold lots of stuff on dyxum.com, and have 100% ebay feedback (ankit42).

New Pentax System rebates

If I am reading it correctly, the rebates on the lenses are applicable only when they are purchesed with a K20D/K200D. This makes the rebates useless for me... :(

I agree. For me it is a toss up between this and the DA* 200. And if I get this, I can get a wide angle lens with the money I save. I think I'll wait a few more days before I make up my mind (I need the lens before my trip to Alaska in june).

Options for 60-250mm while I wait?

Thanks for that pic, Heather. I think that settles it. I don't need to wait for the 60-250 - its just too big/heavy for me. Now the chioce is between the DA* 50-135, the DA 200mm, and the 55-300...

I have been around the same area (and a little north on michigan ave), taking pictures as late as 2AM, and never had any trouble. I must add that I was with a couple of friends, which might make a difference. Unfortunately this was during my nikon film days, and I don't have any photos scanned. :(

upcoming 60-250mm vs. Canon 70-200mm f/4

I know that Minolta had the 70-210mm f/4 lens (aka the beercan) that is very popular among sony/minolta users. But this is an old lens, and there really is no new equivalent in any other system. I am looking forward to the 60-250, but like you, I am also concerned about the weight/size.

The DA35 is so tempting at ~$360. Sadly I've spent too much money on the DA21 and VL90 recently. Maybe once I get my tax returns... :)

Credit Card funded PayPal purchases
Posted By ankit

I think the biggest issue with accepting credit-card payments is that you need a premium account, and paypal then charges a fee on ALL payments (even non-credit card payments). I only have a personal account so cannot accept credit-card payments at all. I personally have no problems with sellers asking for non-credit card payments (as long as everything else checks out fine).

That said, I always use a friend's premium paypal account to accept payment on ebay. I think it is worth the extra fee since I think the auction usually ends higher if the buyer accepts credit cards.

That would make this lens gigantic. I would prefer a slow and small lens (f/3.5-f/4) to a big/heavy fast lens (f/2.8). If you want fast, get the 14mm :)

Oh, and minolta and olympus too while they are at it! Can you imagine the possibilities of in-camera SR with in-lens VR? I bet you could hand-hold a 200mm lens at 1sec exposure!
