Number 9 expresses the things I like in an action photo, design, space, motion, and emotion. Great photo.

I can't get over how sensitive a subject this is. When shooting I would absolutely pay NO attention to other photographers. Who the he** cares what other people think or say. I care not one with about their personality hangups. I'm thankful I have Pentax. If people want to shame me they should do so regarding my "eat my shorts" t-shirt.

I'm catching up and finding the information provided useful. I can see that I'm going to have to do some research before purchasing additional lenses. Being a retiree I have the time. So, I'm hopeful that over time my lens acquisitions will be good choices. The why's and wherefore's are everywhere in camera and lens discussions. As for Pentax, they do seem to have an intelligence in their leadership and I'm sure they have their ducks and alternative ducks in order.

I will have to learn the various functions of the camera and lens relative to their working together by writing down each one and condensing it for use when shooting. The complexities will simplify with use. It makes me wonder if anyone has the brain to carry the various combinations of uses given the lens selections. I may have to limit my choices and get used to just a few. When I was a kid playing golf, I could shoot par with a driver, a five iron and a putter not to mention the lake balls I was using. LOL

The book was not included with the camera. Just the body and charger/battery were included. Also, I didn't think of it at that time. It's supposed to be delivered today, so that is good. I wonder, how the online one differs from the original copy? Did the forum mods or others take on such a large project? I have studied the online one and am ready to begin and let the feathers fly. My original photo's are going to be very controlled stills, so my learning process should be relatively easy, but the trickster is everpresent. Classic cockups are expected. Success is near.....:)

Yup, I accidentally bought the K10D as well. I made a very low offer on one on Ebay. The seller waited and I thought he rejected my offer, then, all of a sudden, he acccepted it...lol. So now I have the K10D and the K-5. Begezzus, cameras everywhere. LOL.

Thanks photolady95, but no, I need a booklet that I can take downstairs where the magic happens...lol. All of my computers are upstairs, and I don't like to use my cell phone because the trilateral technocracy is tightening the rope around our necks. I know, shake your shoes off, it's deep...lol.

Wow, what a read this has been...my thoughts...in a world of scarcity in which we are entering, I love the idea of shooting Pentax knowing that old quality super multicoated Pentax lenses are still out there for the taking. I think it's fine that Pentax develops new advanced DSLR's and lenses; but, I relish the idea of hunting for older lenses and finding a keeper. It's a small part of saving Mother Earth. It seems too that most of the really appealing photo's have more to do with the heart and spirit than the most expensive brand. Pentax rocks!!!

A special Fat Tuesday thank you for all of those who reached out to assist me. I studied and learned and decided to purchase a SMC Pentex A 50mm prime F 1.4 lens, to work with my recommended K-5 camera body. It was very affordable and I'm looking forward to receiving it. Thank you again, I love this place! :D

Thanks! Lens terminology is complicated, and I'm still a little foggy after reading it. I have much to learn.

---------- Post added 03-04-19 at 08:34 PM ----------

With the A lens, can I manually set the apature as well? Or am I stuck with auto exposure. :hmm:

---------- Post added 03-04-19 at 08:36 PM ----------

Hmmmm, so a K prime lens will allow me to manually focus and change my apature? Also what is IQ? :)

---------- Post added 03-04-19 at 08:39 PM ----------

So, if I use a K 50mm 1.4 prime lens then I can manipulate the apature and focus?:)

Now that I have the K-5 body, I need to look for lenses. I would like to manual focus. Also, do I need an M42 screw mount for the M lenses? Just trying to figure this stuff out... Thanks :)

The K10D definitely fits my budget and my particular need. I'm primarily using it to photograph products indoor and under controlled lighting. So it would probably work well for now. Then I can begin saving for an upgrade. Thank you for your comment. :)

A special thank you for your recommendations of both the K5 and KEH. I visited their site and they do have some offerings. They do seem like a good company and I will call them tomorrow. Again, thanks and blessings.:D
