Better second camera: K3ii or KP?

I have two K-5IIs and a KP. The KP is a very good camera, but it just isn't ergonomically as good as the K-5II. The battery life is very noticeably shorter and it's not nearly as comfortable to hold as the K-5II, even with the large grip. For me, the KP's short battery life, lack of IR remote, small buffer, no top LCD, and uncomfortable grip are more than compensated by its low light performance, fast processing, better focusing and tilt screen.

Is the KP just sold with a single grip ( in Japan)?

My KP ordered from Amazon in the US came with all three grips.
I only use the large grip and still find it not as comfortable as the K-5.
The battery life sucks too compared to the K-5 series, so I got the battery grip as well, which makes the KP much nicer to hold.

Protea repens "Red Sugarbush" at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Cape Town - the Sony's tilt screen comes in very handy at times.

This is why I carry my camera everywhere I go. On my run yesterday morning (15 Dec. 2019) I saw this and had to stop for 5 minutes.
This is a stitched panorama of 5 images. Compact cameras have come a long way!

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I was lucky. I was "frivolously" looking at the clouds and light, irritating my American friend who was only interested in instructing me how to tune into the emergency band to get news of the direction and severity of the storm. Hail is a big worry in Colorado and Wyoming.

I carry my Sony RX100III everywhere. I never know when an opportunity will suddenly present itself, unplanned and unexpected.

Here's an image taken though the windscreen of a car travelling at speed on I-25 towards Denver. The light from the setting sun lasted only a very brief time.

Thanks. I often slow down s/speed for deliberate motion blur to make the image more interesting. Here the focus of my attention was on the elephants' act of drinking - the movement of their trunks and splashes of water. But it makes taking sharp images very difficult sometimes. So often, it's hit and miss.

At the back a game-viewing vehicle, depending on the kindness and patience of the driver and friends, the vageries of the wildlife, one takes what one can get...

A family of elephants at the end of a long, hot, dry and dusty, thirsty day.

Many of my favourite landscapes are taken with a long focal length. This one was 200 mm and taken around sunset. The sky was overcast and dreary, the bush dry and hot, but the photo is interesting all the same.

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful comments and suggestions. I posted the image because it's an example of a mistake I can all too easily make when distracted and not properly present "in the scene".

On site, I didn't notice the bush, being in a rush. It had started to drizzle, and I asked my American friend and travelling companion (a patient non-photographer) to stop the car, jumped out with K5II, DA*55 which was already attached, and my DA 16-85 and took about five or six images. I didn't venture in front of the bush, because -- stupid rookie mistake -- I was concentrating on the distant clouds and mountains and didn't >see< it. It is so obvious, but was just invisible to me. There were a lot of people behind me, and cars, too which just added to the distraction. Also, I think there may also been a sign preventing people from walking into the meadow.

Here are some of the other images taken with the DA 16-85. They give more context.

1. Here the bush is in focus, but distracts from the view up the valley IMO. (f/7.1 39 mm)

2. This is more panoramic and the usual 3:2 apect ratio. The bush is still there, but less of a distraction. (f/5.6 26 mm).

3. This is a crop of image 2. It doesn't really work because the water should fill more of the image to balance it.

All the images are cropped to some extent to straighten them or format them in 4:3. I think the original in the first post is probably the best compromise. But the lesson I forgot... breathe and really look at what I'm shooting... don't be distracted by weather, time, traffic and people... weather, least of all -- after all I had a Pentax!
