I have one of the most awesome cemetery's in my town, not only size (250 acres) and history (late 1700's), but also wildlife. It is a great practice site where you find anything from wild turkeys and deer to a pond that is home to a flock of geese. The pond itself you can find snakes, ducks and frogs. I was shooting old headstones when I happened upon these two fawn. Thought I would share.

Mating season is over. Babies have hatched. The wait is on for next year but I hope I can get a few more shots before they grow up.

Have not posted for a while so doing this just because. I was not prepared for this, heard a splash and hit the shutter. Wish I could get these guys to pose for me. It would end up being a better shot.

Otis is going to be very proud of many of you. PETA is going to be pissed at some. As for me, every squirrel I ever tried to shoot has out smarted me with nothing but a furry blur. Let me know when Otis needs a nice flower.

Just another trip out to a local pond and still finding good subjects like birds, snakes, geese and turtles. Most of them are shy and dart away at the first site of me. This one did not even know I was there. Yea, who's invisible now?

And it is liked. Enjoy your addiction. I am off to feed mine at a goose pond with a DLSR, a GoPro and a half loaf of bread.

What I find amazing in this photo is every one is motion blurred. Except for one, at the the bottom of the stairs, who appears to be taking a pic as well.

One comment from me. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you just can't get a pic the way you want it. Even with post processing.

The second pic you posted is much better. It gives me the feel that the bird is high up and picking up the light from the side. The darks to me are not too dark and the wings have just the right amount of blur. The nice blue sky really highlights it all well.

Yea well, let me snap the shutter for ya next time. The little guy would be 40 feet away in the first 1/1000 of a second, leaving nothing but a nice blur. Nothing stays still for me. Not even sticks.

Nice shots.

Still going through some shots I took a few days ago at a local cemetery pond. Overall I am not happy with these pics. Made some mistakes in my approach, in both camera settings and composition, but I learned a bit. The last pic I love for some reason.

Nice shot. Wish I had a bunch more insect and wildlife to shoot at this point in the seasons. Not winter and not spring is making it difficult to find the shots I like to see.

I made some very rookie mistakes on this last trip to the pond. I went away with some decent shots but not good enough. I am a very bad critic when it comes to me. One big thing I did wrong was not using spot. I will be making another trip to this same pond. Actually may become a fav location.

Run of the mill water snake. I am just going to call him a Northern Brown unless someone who knows better can tell me different. He does not look to be of the venomous kind by the looks of the eyes. Wish I could have got a better shot but he was about 30 feet away and I could not get any closer. Then again really didn't want to.
