In the SD Card Formatter, I always use the 'overwrite format' option. Is that ok?

Indeed it was a DNG fie with 0 MB. It was listed as all the other photos, with a normal number. But I couldn't open it. Not on the camera itself, not on my computer by using FastStone.
It was the frist time I made photos after the update. But I already had made more almost 200 photos before it happened. So it will be the battery.

It was 1 error of 280 photos that I took yesterday. And indeed, I had to change the battery. Mayby that was the reason - that the battery wasn't strong enough anymore to write the third of three bracketing photos. Let's hope that's the reason, and not the software update...

You are right. It's the first time it happens to me in years. The rotating system is a good idea.
I hope it's just a coincidence that it happened after I installed the new software update.

The camera is the K1-II.
It was not an aperture block. If it was then the photo would be black indeed but still as big as the other photos. Now it was only 0 mb.
I always format the cards with the SD Card Formatter, using the overwrite option.
Maybe I might change the camera settings, so that each photo is written on two cards. Just for safety.

Yesterday, I was making a series of photos. Back home I saw that one of the photos was not written on the sd card (Sandisk 64 GB, Extreme Pro 170 MB/s). The photo had a normal number on the card but was entirely black and 0 mb big.

I always take photos in the dng-format. All the photos were made in bracketing modus.

It's the first time that such a thing happens to me. Just before yesterday I updated the camera (K1-II) with the latest software.

Has anyone an idea what might have went wrong?

What is the worst Pentax lens ever made?

I bought the 50-200 as a kit together with my K10. I used it for two months, and after that it disappeared into my cupboard where it still is. The photos made with the lens were never really sharp, and the colours were soft and grayish. I deciced to save some money for the cheapest version of the 55-300 lens. That was a relief!. Finally a useful telezoom. I kept using it with my next camera, the K5, and I even keep using it with my current camera, the K1-II. Now, finally, I touch the limits of the lens - which is understandable - but even now it's still worth its money. It's waaay better than the useless 50-200.

I use the Irix. Am absolutely happy with it. I never regretted the purchase of it. But I don't know the Samyang, so I can't tell wether that lens is better or not.

Will you buy the k3 Mark 3?

What I mean: the K3 III is really expensive, even more expensive than the full frame K1 II. Is it worth that much money?

Should I get the D-BG6 Battery Grip when I buy a K-1 Mark II?

I have the grip but I never use it. (My hands are medium sized.) The grip makes the camera even heavier than it already is. Maybe fine in a studio but not when using the camera outdoors.

I have the same question. Is there software that can handle hand-held pixel shift files? Does anyone know that?

K1-II eating battery?

In my experience the K-II isn't more hungry for a battery than the K5. But of course things like live view and the gps ask a lot from the battery. You might switch them off, and see what happens.

To buy or not to buy the Pentax 28-105, or the question of walking-around with a K1

I switched from the K5 to the K1-II. Working with the FF camera was amazing, a total difference in terms of a much better IQ. Since I own the K1-II, I haven't used the K5 anymore!
I started working with the 28-105 lens, thinking that in time I would buy another, better, lens and only using the 28-105 as a walk around lens. But up to now (I have the K1-II for almost three years) I didn't see a good reason for not using it almost all the time. It's good, sharp and not heavy. Perfect for taking photographs on the field. Only when I need a wide angle or a tele lens I remove the 28-105 from my camera, only for special occasions.

I think that's his strong point: not using a script but just telling what he wants te tell, rigth from his heart and doing that enthousiastically. That's better than making a scripted video. It makes that we keep listening to him and that we believe him.
