Hopefully every surgeon thinks like that before beginning. I am personally thankful that each time I've had a procedure that my surgeon and the team had the competence, experience and confidence to perform correctly and successfully.

I like your way of thinking about spending money on a nice vacation with the wife instead of upgrading(?) to new equipment. Three years ago wife and I went on a 19 day trip from NW Pennsylvania to SD to see Rushmore, the Badlands, Devil's Tower and places on the way. I was using a Pentax K-x and I have some pretty impressive (my opinion) photos. SInce then I did upgrade to a K-70. and sold one of my K-x cameras to help pay for it.

I am encouraged by the notification that Ricoh/Pentax is releasing the KF. I realize it is a slightly changed K-70, but it along with the K3 and the FF K1 has been fairly successful (i think). At my advanced age I do not really see any advantage for me to upgrade art this time, however if I live long enough, I may go for another upgrade.

Not just Best Buy but if there were a few more brick and mortar camera/photogrphy stores, like back in the days of film. That may be just a bit too much to ask.

Agreed, those are included in my list of reasons for buying Pentax, and sticking with it.

Reminded me of the man who saw a funeral procession of two hearses, followed by a man leading two Doberman dogs and followed by a long line of men. Curious he entered the street and asked the man about the odd procession. The nan explained: in the first hearse was his wife and the second held his mother-in-law. The curious nan was shocked but asked what happened? The man said both had been killed by his dobies. The curious man started to turn away but stopped and asked the nan if he could borrow the dogs. The man replied, Sure, get in the line.

I'm wondering if Ricoh/Pentax's decision to hold on the mirrorless transition has affected, in any way, the continued loyalty. Personally, I will be staying with the DSLR and not switching to MILCs for a variety of reasons: familiarity with SLR, it is what I am used to; cost, I cannot justify paying for more expensive camera when my current kit is working so well; and I do not feel there will be any improvement in my photography with a different camera.

Brings to my mind the story of The Ski Patrol Soldiers at the end of WWII that stopped in London and was reviewe by the Queen. As she proceeded along the line of soldiers she noted one young man appearing quite happy to be on his way home. She stopped and made a few inquiries of the young manand his family. He admittd he was married and had not seen his young bride in over 18 months. Intrigued, she asked him what the first thing he and his wife would do when he arrived home. He embarrassedly told her in very plain and straightforward honesty and detail. The qyueen only slightly taken aback, then asked what he would do next. He replied, "I'll take of my skis."

My new K-70 has a slightly blueish color profile

This post indicates that you are very dissatisfied with the K-70 and do not wish to keep it. Therefore it is your decision to return it for a refund. Also, from reading through all the comments, advice and suggestions, it is clear that no one here is going to change your mind. I think we should all wish you the best of luck with your K200D and Tamron lens.

On a personal note, I do not detect any blue tint, slight or obvious, in the photos you posted. I have owned a K-70 for a little over two years now and am fully content with the results and colors it provides me. I do shoot almost exclusively RAW and post process in PSE 2019 which gives me the photos I wish to have. The only advice or suggestion I thought of while reading through this discussion was, perhaps it would take a little time (maybe a month or two) using the K-70 to fully understand the settings and to get totally familiar with the camera. After all, there is a 8 year time span between the release dates of the cameras and there are significant and numerous differences in the controls, options and technology.

I am sure that it does bother some but not all. I just think of it that Pentaxians do not feel a need to brag about their camera preference so they do not flaunt them like CanSoNikon owners do.

I do recall several years ago, while on my first Alaska trip, we were on a whale watching excursion and I noted there seemed to be no other Pentax cameras on board. As I was moving to a different spot on the boat, another passenger with, I think a Canon, gave my camera a strange look as I passed by. I looked at him and said, "It's a Pentax." That seemed to confuse him all the more. I continued on my way to where I took a few more photos.

I note the spelling on the camera inserted an extra "x" though the logo/symbol appears close to accurate.

Just curiosity on my part, if you consider the K70 as too expensive as an entry level DSLR, would you consider, and possibly recommend, a slightly older used camera for a student entering the photography avocation? If so, what would you suggest? The brand is immaterial, just a good beginner camera.

I am not a teacheer nor a professional but the photos I get from my K-70 with the kit 18 - 135 are wonderful. Personally, I think in the right hands, almost any camera with a quality sensor, good lenses, and sufficient pixels for enlarging an image, is capable of taking appropriate and adequate photos of great image quality and providing a professional result. That having been said, I would include the K-70 in that grouping.

Reminds me of the "Biker" whose bike broke down and he decided to take a bus back to the club house.A sall group was gathered at the stop with an attractive middle aged lady a few feet from it. The biker took a position away from the group with the lady about midway between hm and the group. SUddenly feeling the pressure build he allowed himself to pass gas, loudly. As the people waiting for the bus began turning toward him, he stated loudly, "Look innocent, Lady, they'll think I did it."

Those are all very good. I identify with several. My favorite though is, "Any book worth banning is a book worth reading." More truth than sarcasm.

NetFlix just started a new series, "Devil in Ohio" and in the first episode a young girls is seen taking photos with a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm 1:2 lens. I paused the video and took the attached photo with my cell phone, didn't have my Pentax K-70 ready to go. The actress is holding the camera correctly, also.

Interviewing for a position or employment (even voluntary employment) is a two way street. After looking at the "application" to be a moderator, I would feel more comfortable knowing just what is expected from the applicant by the forum administrators. Are there minimum time requirements for the applicant to be online? Must all areas of the forum be searched or reviewed each day or certain number of times per week? Possibly there are people here with the qualifications but limited time to perform official duties. I think a little more information about what is expected would help.
