A micro sd card in an adapter sleeve is not recommended for use in the camera.
The adapter sleeve is intended only for transferring files to a computer and is not a reliable high-speed connection.

Some flowers reflect light strongly in the UV spectrum (for the benefit of insects' eyesight), we can't see this but possibly it's overwhelming the sensor. I would try deliberately underexposing by 1 or more stops and seeing if the colour of the petals now looks better.

Can you still return the scanner to Amazon (Due to poor performance?)
If I were your CFO, I would permit cash return on the scanner to be used for an old macro lens. Also, you end up owning LESS stuff with a macro lens, so that's something you could defend at a board meeting with your management.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that they release a revamped 50mm at the same time. Much like how several other lenses have been renewed without prior announcement.

which HDMI cable for Pentax 645z?

The HDMIport on your laptop would be an output port. i.e. to output the video from the computer to an external monitor.
Connecting a HDMI cable from the camera to the laptop won't display anything on the laptop's monitor. You can plug the camera directly into a monitor, but this just mirrors what you can see on the back of the camera.

If you want to remote control the camera (tether), you need to do it by the usb port, but at the risk that with 99% inevitably, someone will trip over / pull the cord the wrong way and damage the usb port on the camera, as they're small and flimsy. Or simply send the camera, laptop or both flying... Wi-Fi may be an option.

Maybe search the forums for "645 tethering" and see what's recommended.

The offical page says that the difference is GLONASS and Galileo satellites can now be received in addtion to the satellites supported in the previous model, which was GPS and QZSS.

In all likelyhood the chip will be faster to detect satellites also, but they don't say this...

This must be a simple fix. Pentax K-30

If you can get an external flash there is more you can do than just light up everything in boring whiteness. You can do trailing curtain sync, front curtain sync and other fancy stuff. So you can have a combined sharp photo with ghostly trails that shows movement. Also keeps the colours ambient rather than the washed out look you can get with the internal flash. This is with the AF360 aimed at the ceiling and trailing curtain sync so the subject has trails leading to their final location when the flash fired. It's a bit hit and miss but it's possible to both capture the fun by showing movement and avoid the faces being blurry.
-- Also, being transparent is very slimming, so people like the pictures you do like this. ha ha

Always do a quick zoom in and check your results if you're taking photos in a new setting or if there isn't much light. Don't assume that everything is going OK and then have the whole event ruined.

Better to take a noisy or undexposed photo than a blurry one.
As mentioned above, if it looks like you're going to get blur, don't be afraid to increase your ISO or decrease the exposure as a quick solution. Shooting in RAW will also allow you a lot of detail recovery opportunity on the computer.
Software such as Topaz DeNoise can go the extra mile to save a photo if RAW processing alone wasn't enough. Somewhere on pentax forums is a link offering a discount on Topaz software.

Are you using a lens with an aperture ring? It might be bumped off A and onto f/22, which could explain the underexposure.

Best vintage wideangle lens to adapt?

Is the adaptation process reversible?

It would be a shame to think that Pentax alone has kept their mount consistent for nearly 50 years and even still supports m42, yet all the old pentax glass may be irreversibly converted off brand. 🥺

K3ii was released in 2015 so K3 had only two years of glory. (Unless not changing the sensor doesn't count as a new camera model.) Annoyingly, I somehow contrive to buy the body that gets replaced almost straight away, which is then followed by a much improved model that doesn't get upgraded for years.

Focus issues: solutions?

OK - my take:
As above - need an example picture to see the problem.

You said you had a Split-prism focusing screen - so you are not using the original Pentax AF (autofocus) matte screens? The AF might be affected by this if the screens are not Pentax brand and not designed for an auto focus camera.

How 'Zoomed In' are you when looking at pictures? Nothing looks perfect at 100% pixel peeping but will print out just fine.

Does the auto focus problem exist only indoors? I get this idea as the camera works with the red light from the flash unit.
Tungsten lights and flourescent lights aren't anywhere near to matching daylight wavelengths. In particular earlier AF cameras will not handle indoor lighting well and the solution is to stop down a bit to hedge your bets on the focal range. You have to test autofocus outdoors in daylight because that's the lighting the camera is designed for. The K-3 was the first Pentax that seems to perform OK with indoor light focusing.

Anyway, post some examples to give everyone a shot at diagnosing.

My guess is the viewfinder matte has been touched. Once someone touches the matte, it's ruined. Both because it's extremely soft and fragile and also because any oil from fingers will get in the delicate ridges.

Check the custom setting menu. There is a menu for LCD panel illumination. I don't have my camera in front of me, but I Think there are different brightness levels apart from just off and on... I could be wrong though...
