Thanks. First time I've ever seen this bird. My pictures do not properly reflect the bird's deep red color - a deeper red than a Cardinal. 30fps putting in work.

Hopefully it will return.

Nature Starlings Fighting in Flight (Again, in the Rain)

I almost sent the GH5 back and I'm glad I didn't. Features as simple as tilt or articulating screen, and silent shooting affects my versatility. Another maybe underestimated feature is connecting phone to camera through app. Panasonic's implementation to make spontaneous in camera changes is like still being able to hold the camera in hand.

Real Scenario:

I set up my 4 to 5 cameras, go hide inside, use the mentioned app to see while I lay on the bed and fire all my cameras remotely based on seeing the birds approach on the phone app = improves efficiency in regards to patience/waiting for action.

Technology matters too. If camera can shoot silent and you need to shoot fast fps then the camera will need a strong processor to process the scanned image data from mirrorless shooting (electronic shutter). To me there is a correlation between video prowess and fast mirrorless shooting.

Nature Starlings Fighting in Flight (Again, in the Rain)

Thanks, I've been tweaking my technique for several years to include financial investment into equipment.

Disclaimer:

I'm a Pentaxian by heart and I hope the new Pentax camera has the feature set I need. I started with Pentax bodies, migrated to Sony Rx10 iii, then Olympus, and now my go to Beast of action camera is the GH5 (dont tell anyone, let'em think its only good for video). For the close range shooting I do I have to have the fps (i can shoot 30 or 60 fps with Oly and Pany). In my experience the way I shoot any fps less than 10 is not different than shooting single shot in regards to how fast close range birds pass across the frame - i use what equipment i need regardless of brand to accomplish a task, the task that led you to take time to appreciate. Gear does matter.

Thank you again.

I thank you guys for standing up for me. I was overly enthusiastic in hoping the lenses were the same.

But what I can assure you without a mistake, both lenses will serve me well.

I agree. I posted a 1 in a million picture of two birds fighting mirroring each other and get minimal response. I make a mistake and everybody wants to know me. No biggie. I can show better than I can tell.

Thank you for the more in depth details. I shouldve added a ? to the Very Possible title thread. I apologize for the error - I should've posed the title thread as a question.

I recently purchased the Oly 50-200 SWD (4/3 mount) and immediately I recognized many similarities to my Pentax 60-250.

- Front element looks exactly the same

- Same girth

- Same filter size

- Same length and weight

- Oly is 16 elements in 13 groups, Pentax 15 elements in 13 groups, Both have ED glass elements

- Both have ultra sonic motors

- Oly is 2.8-3 5, Pentax is F4

- Oly manfactured 2007, Pentax manufactured 2009

Although the Pentax is said to extend to 250mm focal length, it does not (I've been told its focus breathing). From my tests its about 200 to 210MM. I have not tested the wide end. Im waiting on my adapter to be able to take some test shots.
