I have purchased from Japanese ebay sellers on many occasions, and in my experience they are generally very honest and extremely respectful of their buyers. I am in Australia, and to be honest, I would prefer to buy from a Japanese seller than a US one. (no offence intended)

I have only ever had a single "issue" with a Pentax lens that had mild separation, and the seller immediately refunded my money in full, and did not require me to return the lens to him.

I've found that it's also quite common for Japanese sellers to include little extra gifts with their items, although I never expect this at all.

So... full marks from me. (Of course normal rules apply... check feedback, etc)

M42 adapter to Pentax K Help ?

You need an adaptor with an internal flange. The internal flange will hold the pin in, allowing you to use the aperture ring normally. Here's a link to one on ebay, but you can probably source one cheaper if you look around.
Kipon Adapter for Carl Zeiss M42 Screw Mount Lens to Pentax K PK Mount Camera | eBay

What you don't want to do is get a screw-on adaptor with an "external" flange, because that type will not allow you to focus to infinity.

I think I have bricked my K110D

I think this procedure that you followed might be your problem.

While it's normal to load the .bin file directly onto the SD card with later model Pentax DSLRs, I believe the earlier ones (such as the K110D), required you to extract the files from within the .bin file to a folder on your computer, and then copy the extracted files onto the SD card. From that point the procedure was similar to the later cameras.

I hope this is correct, and I hope it is helpful.
