Found this old seat while exploring around one of the less visited parts of the Bay of Fires - a perfect setting, looking over a lagoon, with the ocean beyond - a great place for thinking about life, the universe and everything.

It's beached near a small port in a sheltered inlet - so it might be around for a while

I hadnt known of that thread, but just checked it out - I think they need more rust so will try to oblige

---------- Post added 07-30-21 at 02:07 PM ----------

I just tried to post my wreck on the rust thread but the site wouldn't let me because it had already been posted here

Once had the pleasure of staying in Mitte, once in East Berlin. This bar was on the way back from the Hauptbahnhof, built into one of the arches of the main line east. A treat for the eyes, but imagine having to dust this down now and then.

Good idea - time for the Gondwana Liberation Front. Here's a link to an imagined map of Gondwana - Gondwana - Wikipedia

The yellow bits are flowers. Our cushion plants in Tasmania have white flowers but look pretty good too. climate change a major threat to them

This bright flower, seen in some forest in southern Chile, resembles closely a plant in my home of Tasmania, the Waratah - more evidence that these distant lands were once joined.

An eon or two ago there was an ancient continent which included, amongst other places, Tasmania, New Zealand and Patagonia. Living evidence of this is the similar plants found in these regions - this is a cushion plant, a slow-growing alpine. This is in Tierra del Fuego. Not sure what type - Tasmania has three.

It's a stunning place for a photographer - cruise started at Valparaiso, an amazing city, a couple of stops in southern settled Chile, a visit to Chiloe where indigenous culture still prominent, and then into increasingly empty glaciated country, until reaching civilisation again at Punta Arenas, a small but handsome city in Tierra del Fuego. Some took a side trip to Torres del Paine but too pricey for me

Thank you - on the uncommon occasions when the sun was out the colours were rich, similar to scenes from places like Scotland or Donegal - and the plant life there is likely similar.
