There must be some variation then, because the MX here is reasonably easy to turn
with the finger when up to the eye.
It is not quite as easy as the similar Ricoh KR-5, I think because the KR-5 has a coarser knurl.

The easiest old slrs to adjust shutter speed on here are the Ricoh KR-10 and the Minolta X-700 because they have larger wheels.

The Canon A-1 has a sunken wheel, revealed by sliding down a locking shield (!) but it is Ok after a bit of practise.
The A-1 is the strangest beast in my little collection, I regard it as having been designed by a committee of politicians.

K-Mount Film SLR Suggestions?

So I took it out for a trip last weekend along with my new K-S2. It is pretty solid. I didn't like the strap it came with so I replaced it with a Op/Tech USA generic strap. Took my Pentacon 30/3.5 with it and the overall flow is pretty natural. I am using 3 eneloops for this camera.

Probably considering getting another body - I would like to have one body with color film and another with B&W, but taking three cameras out is a hassle.

Question for MX owners who bought their cameras brand new in the 70s.

Yes I have also found the MX meter LEDs hard to read in very bright light. Another vote for the KX matching needles.

I wish we would stay sprung forward all of the time. Here in Indiana in the middle of summer it gets light at 5:45 and gets dark close to 10 pm, so plenty of light either way. But in the middle of winter it gets light at 8 am and gets dark at 5:30 pm so I don't see the sun at all. I would far rather have it get light at 9 am and get dark at 6:30 -- at least I'd get a few minutes of light after I'm done working.
