Wow, my parents had one like that bought new in the early sixties. In green - no venetian blinds but clear acrylic seat covers to cover the green vinyl seats. Got so hot in the sun they couldn't be sat on so had to sit on beach towels. The Zephyr replaced their Morris Oxford and was replaced in turn by a Ford Falcon station wagon in 1969. Did a lot of miles in the back seat of that zephyr. Being the third child I got to sit in the middle. My younger sister was held in arms in the front bench seat - or when she got older was probably standing in the middle of the front bench seat.

Now that I am home can add a picture from the archive. This image was taken about 1965 by my father with a Spotmatic and ST 35. That is me holding the door handle. The image was taken from a projected slide image.
Family picnic, my parents and siblings with my mothers oldest sister and her family. Must have been windy as we are sheltered between the cars with a lilo wind break up.

Thank you Rod for triggering the memories.

Pentax ME II Winder Issues

Hi there, just had a play with my copy of the ME II winder on the ME Super. Seems to behave in exactly the same way you describe. Also seems to wind and then activate shutter and wind. Like it has to wind on then activate rather than activate and then wind. Could be a battery thing. The body has just undergone a CLA so I do not think the issue lies there. For comparison I tried the MX and its winder and it sounded more normal. Then the batteries gave up. Eneloop rechargables. Will put them on charge and try again tomorrow..Sorry no help here.

O ring decay - goes all gummy - I work around it by using the same techniques as above. But the O ring under the Exposure hold button on my camera is also sticking now - which is annoying as it doesn't free up and is under the button. Grrrr.

As mentioned earlier my device came with metal Nikon mount fitting, I purchased the Pentax mount fitting. It is a polycarbonate material. Light but strong. It was about $90 Australian. It is more than an adapter. Adapter allows a lens designed on one system be used on another. This part converts the lens from a made for one system to a made for another system. In this case the lens becomes a manual k mount lens.

Simple web search found this: Tail End Charlie The Tractor

It is indeed a Chamberlain. And it is still alive in a tractor museum but a replica is still kicking.

I have been working closely with a local government organization over the last few months on a photography project. Money was left over from the original grant so coordinator decided to purchase a 'good camera' for future project work. Asked me for website so I recommended Digital Camera Warehouse and left person to decide on her own what to get at the price point she determined. Two days later she said she ordered the K5 and lens clearance deal mentioned above.

Person had done her back ground reading and interpreted this as the most suitable camera for the job. I was quite surprised as while I had been using my Pentax gear on the project I had no been pushing it (much).

I agree - loved it when I saw it so bought one - I quite like it with silver lenses mounted and there is enough matt black in the grip material to coordinate with the black lenses.
