Calibration on new monitor

You have not indicated which version of Spyder Express you are using.
My version 4 has settings for which color gamut you are using and also measures ambient light to determine the correct brightness. If you are not using version 4 I suggest acquiring at least that version, if not the improved 5, before trusting the calibration.

Just saw Pentax given away as a prize on Price is Right. Think it was a K-3 with a 16-85 WR lens.

PLEASE HELP! K-50 Does not shoot with flash and says "battery depleted"

The only way to truly find out if that is the problem is to try another battery. You could try shooting photos continuously without the flash and see if the battery dies quickly.

If battery is old it may show 100% charge but as soon as a larger load, the flash, is connected it will not operate. The battery charge percentage is derived from the battery Voltage, not the amount of power left. Try another battery.

Repaired mine by straightening a bent pin so it would extend all the way out. Very delicate operation. Easy to overcorrect. All pins should be at same height when not connected to camera.

Background very distracting. Not the bokeh I'm used to seeing from the DA*300. Maybe some post processing blurring would help. Bird details are very good.

Ricoh-Imaging claims this lens is compatible with the KP. Since the KP has not had a firmware update since being introduced, don't think that is an issue.

Issues with my Pentax K-1, D-BG6 Battery Grip Let me know if yours is like mine?

If I understand correctly, you are concerned that you will lose the rubber plug that covers the contacts on the camera when it is stored in the grip but the grip is not attached to the camera due to the plug fitting loosely in the storage slot of the grip. I don't understand your concern since you should be placing the plug in the camera as soon as you remove the grip. It can't fall out when the grip is attached as it is sandwiched between the camera and the grip.
BTW, I rarely remove the grip on my K-3. I set the battery in the grip as primary and swap with a spare & charge it. The battery in the camera rarely needs charging although I do swap it occasionally to even out usage on the batteries.

Need help with Facebook Cover Photo Scaling

I have read a couple articles that say you should keep the file size below 98k. This has to do with Facebook using their own color space called tiny sgb. Otherwise you can get a lot of artifacts especially with red colors when they compress it. Definitely keep it at 851 by 315 pixels or 1702 by 630 pixels. Resolution only affects printing so it does not apply.
