I was shooting baseball through chain-link fence, and it's clear that my K-50 phase AF center point is not perfectly within the VF box. Most of my shots were manual focus prefocused to the bag I expected action. I tried to test where the AF boundary was but it wasn't an ideal time to be geeky about it :)

I won't soon join a subscription service, now satisfied with PhotoDirector x-1 (v.8 I believe).

bummer II - deep camping the last days of July, so guess I'm out twice. :( :(

On a similar yet different path -
How would one characterize the difference between a k-p 24mpxl jpeg and a k-1 image (with a 1.5x longer lens FL) shot using its 22-mpxl 'medium' jpeg? I would expect the k-1 to win this contest in some aspects but it isn't clear cut in my mind..

Hope your Photax is a good one! That's a nice price for a 200mm. I had a Kmart 'Focal' 200mm around 1974, had a fine time with it.

Sample variation, poor testing and the like guarantee me no cure for my LBA. I simply relax and let the current carry me along. :)

Looks like a duck going right & a unicorn going left.. ? Nice image though, no K-3 necessary.

Cannot believe this thread is still hanging by itself, when is the next milestone? :p

To answer the original question, I have not heard anyone speak of better performance from the 18-270 model. Booth Tamron/DA and Sigma hit a relative sweet spot with the 18-250.

I do agree however that a two- or three-lens set will result in better overall results.

Found a for-parts k-Tak 135/2.5 for $16 so I took a chance. The description is not all bad but we'll see. I'll compare with my 100/2.8M and see who wins.

I've owned the Bee and Bear.

I would love a silver copy some day to hide the duct-tape I would use to affix a 3" mirror along its bottom, which I can then tip back for a vertical 'viewfinder' :D

Bump with gear mutation and price drop.
The LVF2 usually costs as much or more than a GX1 body, so for the price of a used LVF2 you get a body :)

Is that the f/4.5-6.7? I really like my copy, fast to focus and fine image quality. Mine can reach 260mm before falling to f/6.7.
