I use LR 4, and there are no camera profiles for the K-5, just the Adobe profiles. I bought the Huelight profiles for this reason as well.

Running Bag?

If you buy a good pack the straps should not loosen easily on their own. You may need to occasionally tighten them, but I don't think you will find yourself doing it enough to think about it.

The larger hydration packs do have storage. When doing long trail runs unsupported, you need to be able to carry plenty of water, a warming layer, rain shell, food, extra socks...

I have done some mountain trail running with my K-5 inside an REI brand hydration pack. Look for a hydration pack that is designed for trail running, and then pick the smallest model that can handle your camera. (Though you are probably looking at the largest version of most trail running packs to have the volume you need.) If you find an Osprey that fits your size requirements, you cannot go wrong with it.

I do not think the bouncing is going to have any harmful effects on the camera. But make sure the pack has cinch straps and a comfortable wait belt so the pack itself does not bounce on your back, and the load does not bounce within the pack.

I will be rather surprised if we see a KP upgrade, well, ever. :D Okay, maybe that is extreme, but I would not expect it to be a priority. The K3x is overdue, and I would expect that is the number one priority. The 645z replacement should also be in the works. I expect it will follow on the heals of the k3x with a lot of the same tech.

The wild card is the K70. It could soldier on for another year or more, or a replacement could be announced tomorrow.

If you need me to provide examples or names, then it is a safe bet you typically don't peruse the same threads I do.

As far as Adam being easily swayed, I suspect that he is not. After rereading my post and the post I was responding to, I am not sure where on earth the suggestion that Adam might be easily swayed even came from. Not from me.

I think it is a very small percentage, they just happen to be rather vocal. But then, we see that all the time around here.

I put $20 down yesterday for a 1 in 200 chance to win a Allis Chalmers B (a tractor from the early 40's). I do not need another tractor, especially not one of that size, and Allis is not my brand of choice. The odds seemed pretty good however, and the money was going to an organization that I am happy to throw a twenty at.

Had I won I would have considered selling it... but I have a feeling I would have kept it.

If you are thinking about installing lighting specifically for the display, it may be cheaper and easier to reprint the image. I once had a local lab print a 20x30 print for me that came back way too dark. This was from film, so it was not a monitor calibration issue. They reprinted it for me free of charge, but they did not appear to be very happy about it. I should not I did not argue and press them to reprint it, I just told them it was way to dark and showed them a 5x7 print that had been made prior at the super market film drop.

Over the years I have had trouble with different labs occasionally doing producing prints that were too dark. The one time I complained they told me it was probably a monitor calibration issue. I found a different lab.

I personally wish old threads would be automatically closed after x months with out a new post. If something happens to warrant adding to an old discussion, then I believe it warrants a new thread. However, I the think the post your photos threads are fine to remain open indefinitely.

The OP is right on, in that we need to strive to keep our posts valuable and relevant. Posting just for the sake of posting is not the way to up the count. If the contest encourages some of us to spend more time on the forum, that is a good thing. I typically do not spend much time here in the summer, but this year I am trying to visit almost every day.

Unfortunately it is just not an option on many vehicles any more here in the states. I sure miss the six speed manual I had in my old F250. Ford and GM both stopped putting manual transmission in their heavy duty pickups years ago.

I agree with those saying it won't happen any time soon, and that it is unlikely on a DSLR. However, I do not see any reason why it would not be possible as a feature in live view.

Is that kind of like Adobe saying they would keep the stand alone version of Lightroom indefinitely? :hmm:

I agree with you 100%, but I could not resit the comparison. For now there is nothing to get worked up about. If/when they do make changes, I am inclined to believe those changes are more likely to be improvements.
