I believe Canon , Nikon and Sony have one chip doing the same as what Pentax do with 2 chip
Please read here what Digic from Canon do, seem like it's also an accelerator for me.

As cameras increase in functionality, pixel counts and sophistication, the burden shouldered by DIGIC has increased as well. A recent example is autofocusing on the EOS R, which requires the image processor to process up to 40 times more data than the maximum required on the EOS 5D Mark IV during Live View shooting, a feat achieved by the new DIGIC 8 processor.

And here Sony

A staggering four million sensors a day are produced for a wide range of imaging products
Home to the Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, the Center produces a staggering four million sensors a day for a wide range of imaging products. Many will find their way into Sony-badged cameras and smartphones like the Alpha A7R III, Cyber-shot RX10 IV and Xperia XZ1, while others are destined for a host of cameras and devices from other brands that rely on Sony for their sensors.

Sony, the world’s dominantmobile camera lens maker, is reportedly having difficulties making enough tomeet the demand of its customers.

TerushiShimizu, the head of Sony’s semiconductor unit, revealed in an interviewwith Bloomberg thatthe company is running its chip factories constantly through the holidays forthe second consecutive year to try and keep up with the demand of its mobileimage sensors.“Judging by the way thingsare going, even after all that investment in expanding capacity, it might stillnot be enough,” Shimizu said in an interview at the company’s Tokyoheadquarters. “We are having to apologize to customers because we just can’tmake enough.”
Sony controls over 50 percentof the smartphone image sensor market and supplies them to various smartphonemakers including Xiaomi and Apple. In an attempt to cope withdemands, the company has invested in increasing its production capacity bybuilding a new factory in Nagasaki that is scheduled to open in April 2021.
The company is also seeingincreased demand for a new generation of image sensors that can see the worldin three dimensions. Those sensors use a method known as “time-of-flight” or“ToF” sensor that sends out laser pulses and measures how long it takes forthem to bounce back in order to create more detailed depth models.
After the PlayStation, semiconductors are now Sony’s most profitable business segment. The company hasraised its chip unit’s operating income outlook to around $1.8 billion USD forthe year ending March 2021, and it predicts revenue will climb 18 percent toabout $95 billion, of which image sensors account for 86 percent.
“The camera has become thebiggest differentiator for smartphone brands and everyone wants their socialmedia pictures and videos to look nice, ” said Masahiro Wakasugi, an analystwith Bloomberg Intelligence. “Sony is riding that wave of demand very well.”

The inside and firmware could be unfinished otherwise this would on sales as of now but the body it's the final design with final mold. This is still a prototype and in our terminlogy a preproduction sample.

Peoples who expect that the LV screen would be articulated will be very disapointed.

Again people ho never got a KP dont appeciate the value of that camera. Except for battery , KP is better at almost everything else; low. Light, autofocus, etc. I way better than the K5 I have before and for me better than K3 for low light. If you pair with the DA55-300 PLM, you have a great system.

Yes big problem, when I was in a SAP team from Canada and USA want their MMddYYYY. I do not remember what we have done but sorting was critical.

Same issue with decimal numerator, many countries use comma for fraction like 100,20 but others country use dot 100.20. Many time I need to convert in excel to the proper style otherwise is an alpha field instead of numerical. Worst in Canada ,as we use the comma and decimal point.
And what about digital grouping, ouch: comma, space or point

If I see properly in slide, they will get out of the consumer market like selling in Costco, Best Buy and other and focus Pro Hobbyist. Non Pro today revenu is on par with the pro . Mid term ex^pect to be only 10-15% of pro business.

If recession come, the value of the camera business will be cheap. I have 2 Olympus high end compact , and the 2 die in less than 18 months, same problems, zoom have a hard time getting out. Got a 1 ch Lumix , instead and very very different build quality.

KO, is a great camera and what Pentax can do in a small package. If this was a Canon Rebel label, it would have been a super stellar selling camera in volume.
