I was wondering what message was going to follow the caption - something about having to give up photography. So this gave me quite the chuckle.

Thanks Adam. I think I lucked out on this one, at least with the bokeh. Then again, the exif says I was shooting at F2, so I must have had something like this in mind.

Thanks @eaglem and @Canada_Rockies for checking in. While the weather has been really warm this week, we did have frost one night. So hopefully the riper ones got picked and eaten :)

I think if she was looking into the main part of the image it wouldn't have worked as well.

She's position on the left vertical third. So you didn't break that rule - in fact it is her positioning that makes the photo so compelling.

It is a picture with a story, and thus was worth taking.

It certainly makes a point.

How do you like this lens? It has been on my low priority list since I have the A70-210, but there are times I want a longer FL zoom with AF (and the F100-300 ain't gonna cut it).

Spotted these in someone's back garden and finally managed to get there on a clear morning. Photos taken with either a M50/1.4 or A35-105/3.5 as noted. I didn't record the aperture for the M50, but one reason I was using it was to shoot as wide open as the light would permit. Camera set to spot metering (but not sure what it uses for a M or A lens). Cropped and minimal color processing.

1. M50, +0.7 (overexposed), 1/1252s shutter speed

2. M50, +0.7 (overexposed), 1/1252s shutter speed

3. A35-105, -0.3 (underexposed), f3.5, 1/125 shutter speed

4. A35-105, -0.3 (underexposed), f5.6 ,1/100 shutter speed

5. A35-105, -0.7 (underexposed), f5.6, 1/160 shutter speed

6. A35-105, +0.3 (overexposed), f5.6, 1/80 shutter speed

18-50 kit lens - only on K-S2?

Although there are only limited user reviews, the in depth review makes it seem like the 18-50, despite a few advantages, isn't as good as the 18-55 in terms of image quality. The 18-55 had a reputation as one of the better kit lenses compared to other camera makers. Not saying this was behind the decision, but it is one possible reason.

Well captured. I tried to catch them in flight using the A70-210 on my K5 and couldn't get anything near this sharp. They were just too flighty. (And that leads me to ask, what was the shutter speed?)

Very nice colors. I might play with the cropping a bit, either to make the train more prominent or to put it on the left third which will give it more of a sense of motion.

Of the 5 photos you show, the only one where the ring stands out from the background is the last one. I think the biggest problem here is how busy the rest of the frame is. I like the angle in the bottom set but would have rotated the ring clockwise (when looking down on it from above) to allow for some of the details in the band to be captured.

K7 + A28 f2.8 + AF 280T = success!

I agree with you on the focus throw. I think my problem was trying to use it at F2.8, where it isn't all that sharp compared to faster lenses being shot at 2.8 or even wide open.
If you could include the model number of the hood that would be helpful, as JJC make a huge number of them.

I've never quite mastered the A28, although I've probably tried to use it in situations that didn't play to its strengths. You've done well.
Biggest question I have is what model hood did you use, since I've wanted to try one on that lens?

Thanks Surfer. I've had my eye on them for a while. They even have one in store to try out, but the only day I'd be able to get out there is Sunday, and they are closed then. We might take the risk and order one, or possibly buy a second hand one here to save a bit of money. But the 649 deal is tempting.

That is quite a jump in price, and if the K-70 is modeled after the K-50, she's not going to be comfortable holding it.
