lol, unfortunately, this old lady's memory doesn't reprogram completely, or at least very slowly. So I can't change those settings?

Had my K70 for several months now, minor upgrade from a K50 (which my hubby now uses) one BIG difference is on the K50, the camera woke up my pressing the back button focus, or the review buttons. The K70 ONLY wakes up by half pressing the shutter.
Is there some place I can change that? I found nothing when going through the menus.

I've always been told to turn the shake reduction off when on a tripod, since it can actually cause blur.

Ok, that helps too! Why isn't any of this documented in the manual or somewhere!? It's just trial and error!

amazing! I have both a K70 and a sigma 150-500, and a film solar filter. I've not been able to get more than just the ring of the sun. What settings did you use? Were you at 500mm on the lens? Will I get more detail with a small aperture and longer ss? You rock!

Quick Astrotracer Question

Are you saying after calibrating and turning Astrotracer on, that I can hit the exposure compensation button to set the time of exposure, but it's still in bulb mode AND thus Astrotracer? That's awesome if true, since unlike most of the world, I don't carry a cell phone around to use as a timer in the dark! I have a new K70, and just tried the astrotracer out this evening. I noticed when I hit the green button, astrotracer turned off and I could set the shutter for over 30 seconds. Please let me know if this is what you mean.

I think you'll find the track of the satellite will be broken lines, as the sensor is shifted minutely. As would an airplane trail.

While my husband was at a conference in Burlington Vermont, I went to the shoreline of Lake Champlain. It was a misty rainy day and I liked the wistfulness of this sailor statue with the flags flying in the wind.

Which batteries do you hate, and why (AA NiMH vs. D-LI90 vs. D-LI109)?

I'm a AA fan, because I too would rather have just one kind of battery for all my photo equipment. I chose a Kx in 2011 for my first DSLR, because we were going to Germany and I knew I could find AA's anywhere if my rechargables ran out. I upgraded a bit to a K50 (and gave the Kx to my hubby) because it at least gives you the option of Li109 or the adapter with AAs. Why does this option seem to have gone by the wayside? I'm not fond of the adapter, but it does save fumbling with 4 batteries. I'm thinking of getting a second adapter, but, to date, it hasn't been a problem. I have Maha's smart charger and it keeps my Powerex and Duracell rechargables in great shape since I can condition them when needed. If someone made a charger like the Maha, that would charge both the flats and round batteries at the same time and condition and could do 8 at a time, that would be the ticket!!
