I agree. Very nice! And extremely clean for ISO 16,000!

Thanks for all the positive comments!
The K-5 with the 16-85 is indeed a great combo. In fact, I felt a little guilty when I bought my K-1 as the 16-85 was still fairly new at the time and I felt I was being disloyal to a lens that had treated me well!

Leaving the technical storage part aside, I use a simple year/month folder structure and manage it in LR (still using LR6). For me that's just the simplest way to do it and it makes finding things fairly easy. Inside LR I have a number of Smart Collections (photos by camera, photos by lens, photos by specific keywords etc.). Smart Collections are a great feature.

The weather in Dublin the last couple of days has been fantastic. Yesterday my wife and I went for a hike along the Grand Canal a few miles west of Dublin. Lots of butterflies, few people. Beautiful scenery in a historic location. I brought only my K-5 and DA 16-85mm as I was trying to keep the weight down. I definitely missed the K-1!
Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments. Megalithic structures in Ireland are roughly 3500 to 6000 years old (for reference, the Pyramids of Giza are about 4500 years old). There are hundreds, if not thousands of these things, around Ireland. Many are on private property (e.g. in the middle of some farmer's fields) and others on golf courses and roadsides. Others, like most of these, are in designated parks.

My wife and I spent last weekend in Counties Fermanagh (Northern Ireland) and Cavan (Republic of...) last weekend. Beautiful place, with lots of history. Except for the view of Lough Erne, which was taken with my 16-85, all of these were taken with my D FA 21 Ltd.

Are you in Norman? I'm an OU alum myself. Never expected to see photos of the campus here! I visited a few years ago on a beautiful summer day and took lots of photos.

This is sad news indeed.
But I am pleased to see the large number of supportive comments here by people who interacted with Steve on this forum. There's nothing like real human interaction but sometimes humanity slips through the cracks and into this virtual world. PF is a special place.

Thanks for the comments. These were taken with my AF160FC ring flash, which doesn't get enough use these days.

I spent time in Panama and Hong Kong, both of which boasted a bountiful treasure of insects and spiders to photograph. Here in Ireland I have to look harder, but on Friday afternoon I went for a long stroll along a gravel road separating fields and forest and there was quite a bit to see:

I posted this last year in a POTW thread, but I just heard that it sank while being towed away somewhere (it was a floating restaurant that was a fixture in Aberdeen since the early seventies). Sad as it was a beautiful piece of Hong Kong history. IMGP0388 by Tim Wilson, on Flickr

About 8 years ago I was in the market for a small pair of scopes for travel and hiking. Already a committed Pentax user, I went with a pair of Pentax 8 x 25 UCF-X IIs. I think they're fantastic. Great image quality, SMC lenses, easy focus, easy dioptric correction, compact enough to always carry. I don't think they're available anymore so my only point in mentioning them here is that I think Pentax scopes are definitely worth a look.

Nice! Some of my favorite butterfly shots were taken with my DA*300. I see that you shot these at a whopping 400mm!

I had a collection of Bossons Heads that my parents bought me when I was very young. I remember especially the Sardinian fisherman and the pirate (with a parrot on his shoulder). I don't know what happened to them but wish I still had them.
My first computer was the Japanese market equivalent of a VIC 20 (I think it was called a VIC 1001). 3k of RAM, 22 characters across the screen, a tape drive unit, an RF modulator for the TV, etc.
I had lots of Lego and Matchbox cars.

Very nice! I still call the Seattle area home but haven't been there in several years and haven't lived there since 2006. I'll be back within the next four years though...

The water on the canal was like glass last night and the sky was clear so I took a few night shots. This is a 3-shot HDR (processed in LR). The reds are still a bit much... I think if I'd been out there 45 minutes earlier I would have had better conditions and maybe wouldn't have blown out the reds. I also think I need to try this with my K200D to see how that sensor handles the red... Any other suggestions are welcome! IMGP0414-HDR by Tim Wilson, on Flickr

My wife and I visited Great Saltee Island in Ireland yesterday. It's a private, uninhabited island about a 20-minute boat ride from Kilmore Quay. The island is home to thousands of nesting seabirds, including puffins, gannets, guilemots and razorbills. We had fabulous weather and saw lots of birds. We ran out of time and missed a gannet colony, so I guess we'll have to go back...
All of these were taken with my K-1 Mark II and my DA*300.
