I think I paid $750 for mine in June of 2020. Not a super deal, but I used my “essential worker” bonus from my employer to buy it, so it worked out. I’m sorry you missed out.

Here's a "bridge" in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. This is on Big Fork Ridge trail just off of Caldwell Fork in Cataloochee. That's my son with his K70! You only get the luxury of these bridges when you are fairly close to a trailhead, as you hike further into the backcountry, its off with the boots and wade! |

How do you tell the difference between a grizzly and a black bear? Climb a tree. If the bear comes up after you it’s a black bear, and if it knocks the tree down, it’s a grizzly!!:D:lol:;)

I have wanted to see it for years, and my wife surprised me with a side trip while on vacation. I believe the engine is articulated so it can make the turns despite its huge size!! I am a bit embarrassed to say that I got tears in my eyes when we had to leave!:o. Thank you for viewing!:D

I was messing around with a satobi profile and took this photo. I liked the heavily cropped results. |

Nice shot! I am COMPLETELY ignorant about IR (for now!), but was this done in IR?? I am intrigued by IR shots, but haven't researched it much. Keep up the good work, and thanks for posting!

Well, I use the FA lenses with the KS2 because it has a failed aperture solenoid. The KS2 stays in its own bag ready to go, as does the KP with the other lenses. I know it is a little kooky, but it works for me by limiting my choices so I’m not scratching my head trying to decide what lenses to take!!

I personally like people who are on the fringes, much more interesting than old sticks in the mud. That’s why I don’t use UV filters.

I’ve noticed that there are maybe a few dozen “core” posters whom I see all over the Forums. I suspect that lots of others are content to lurk and learn without posting much. Some may lose interest in posting. I can only handle so much on a computer, then I have to get away from it for a while.

As a blue collar worker and the only income for a family of 5, I understand how this is. I must save up for months to get new gear, so I am very careful, and do lots of research before buying anything because I don’t have extra $ to get something that I can’t use. After putting so much time and effort into selecting an item, it becomes more than just a tool. Also, considering my budget, it is nearly irreplaceable, so I had better get it right the first time and take care of it so it will last!

I found this one just resting on the window and got off several shots. It paid no attention to me! The first one is with flash, the second without. |

Okay I think I just got the idea down of how this works. Correct me if I’m wrong: I am in AFC with AF Hold on high. I am tracking the elusive Boojum in the view finder and it is moving parallel to me. Suddenly, he passes behind some bushes and is briefly obscured. Since I have AF Hold on, the camera does not refocus on the bushes, but “holds” the autofocus. Then, when Boojum appears again, he is still in focus! Unfortunately I realize too late that the SD card is not in my camera!:o

Thank you! I like the flash shot more also, but wanted to contrast the two. The one without flash looks like I used a light box due to the exposure difference in the background.
