Is it OK to keep my lens attached in the bag?

Yep, me too. My 55-300mm WR attached to camera in the backpack, well padded, so I don't have to worry about dust getting in the camera when I get to where I'm going to be shooting.

I'm getting ready for them to come around. I cleaned my only window that faces the bird feeders in the backyard yesterday and setup the tripod with the K-50 and 55-300mm WR attached.

Ready for the birds and squirrels by photolady1995, on Flickr

I got a couple of shots of one squirrel but haven't uploaded yet. I want to wait til I get a few more shots before taking the card out of the camera. It's a Sandisk 128GB SDXC. Will take a while to fill it up. :D

Maybe that's what I should do, Walt, go back over some of my old shots to see what I missed and post those because even though it's warming up around here, the insects are still hiding.

Thanks for the update on Tess and the fur babies, Norm. And the photo of the meeting of the minds, I would love to be the fly on the wall for those conversations. ;)

I'm embarrassed to say, when I moved to Minnesota and heard people talking about a Pine Martin, I thought they were talking about a bird. LOL I did soon learn it wasn't a bird, but a very aggressive animal. But unfortunately, I never saw one to get a photo of either.

Well, that's much better, most are ll there, you're still missing one though. The rest are showing up. If you're happy, I'd call that a win! :)
And if it helped that I told you what was missing that's a double win, eh? LOL

Nice set of photos Norm. TFS

Are you using the BBcode when you post them? If you chose BBcode to post with, it shouldn't matter what camera you used to take the photos with.

There is quite a few not showing up for me either Norm. And when I click on the space where they're supposed to be I get this error message on Flickr:

Oops! Looks like you followed a bad link.

Of the above that aren't showing, the titles you give are:

First one:
Looking for Canada Blue Jays

next one, I got a chickadee

Next one: Definitely not onto me.

But there are others missing. Three others missing that don't have titles and they're after the last one with a title.

They're not going to drop it. And $50 is cheaper than Loyal site supporter status here to get more space and less than most other places. I'll continue to pay Flickr and this year I only paid my usual amount because I'm grandfathered in, so cost to me was only $24.95. ;) I've been on Flickr since 2009.

As long as you keep me out of those nursing homes, you're in as one of my kids. :)

I think I paid a bit more for my Sigma 70-300mm DL Super macro lens. But I shot using AF with it at 300mm, not set to infinity, so maybe that's difference. There are a few insects in here using that lens, but they're on the earliest pages.

Sure, if you're willing to take care of me when I get to the point I can't take care of myself anymore and you promise not to put me in a nursing home, like they've promised not to do. :D

I figured as much. Our 55-300mm isn't a macro lens and won't focus that close. But I'm still going to try it come this spring when the bugs, butterflies start coming around again.

I used to use a Sigma 70-300mm macro lens set on macro to shoot bugs and butterflies, and then crop them. It did a decent job but it was heavy and hard to carry around. Now I'm older I can't tote that heavy lens anymore, I've put it aside until one of my kids decides they want to try using it.

Awesome Arjay. Are these heavily cropped?

I have that lens too never thought to use it for insects. Course it's still winter here and the insects aren't out yet.

Your possums, sure look a lot different than our opossums here in the US. Ours are gray, and have a long snout and long skinny, hairless tail.

I'm sure my one I bottle fed and raised from a baby wouldn't like a flash fired in his face either. ;)

I shot this, with the Sigma 70-300mm DL Super macro non APO: In 2016. I still have this lens, I just don't use it much. And this was handheld.

I did have a used 55-300mm non WR version that must been knocked against something because it back focused horribly so I returned it to where I bought it. But this one, I have now is fine, I bought it from a forum member for $165 and it's great, no back focusing and sharp at 300mm. Oh and the DA version was metal mount.
