Unavailability hurting sales?

I called Schiller’s and they told me they do not carry Pentax. If it is Creve Coeur Camera do they accept American Express? American Express doubles the manufactures warrantee.

My reservation about Creve Coeur Camera is that every camera seems to become a demo camera. (Please correct me if I am wrong, the Bible has a lot to say about bearing false witness) I have seen an employee trying all kinds of lens on a Sony A7 to see what would work. I want a new unmolested camera without the Sigma Lens scratch. Not everyone reads the literature and instructions that come with their products. So buying an unopened and unmolested product from B and H has merit to me. I check shutter activations when I buy a new camera.

I am willing to try a local store and am humble enough to be educated.

Thanks in advance

Bruce

Unavailability hurting sales?

I could not pre-order because I had to sell some things to raise the money. Well I now have the funds. But no camera availability. I have a trip to the Colorado Rockies planned the end of June. So another trip with my Nikon crop sensor. I will rent a Sigma 28-35 f1.8 for the trip. But I was so looking forward to the K-1 and at least the 28-105 lens.

I prefer B&H due to their excellent customer service. That being said my last two cameras came from Adorama. I spoke with Adorama about what if my Pentax lens is decentered. Well if the lens is in "perfect condition" you could return it. Seems like they are not as user friendly as B&H. I had a shipping delay on my Canon G7X from Adorama which caused a case of major stress. The camera finally arrived the day before leaving the country...

We have one good camera shop in town. I will speak to them about their inventory and return policy.

Even if I have to wait, I will still buy a K-1 and use it along with my Nikon system. One any major travels, I always take two cameras. The K-1 would be my primary landscape camera and a Nikon D7200 would be my primary wildlife rig. A crop sensor camera with a Sigma 150-600 allows a system with great reach and is affordable.

I will ordering a K-1 and a 28-105 in several weeks. How did you detect the centering issue on one of the 28-105 lenses? I am not an optical engineer and am worried about getting a poor example.

Thanks, Bruce

I appreciate all the pictures that you have posted. Please be patient in that I have been using Nikons for a few years now. Then pow the K1 was announced, my plans to buy a Nikon D810 were scrapped. Being a landscape photographer, this lens club has been very helpful. My shooting partner just got his new Canon L series 24-70 f2.8 MK II. He rubs in its edge to edge sharpness.

Could you please post a photo shot with mirror lock-up, a tri-pod and using a remote release or a timer. I am very interested in a sharpness comparsion. I have read the DXO results for the Tamron 24-70 F2.8. This Pentax looks like a very good compliment to the K-1.

Thanks for help.
