Shot one of the two rolls of Aerochrome I've had in cold storage. Either I miscalculated the filter factor/mis-metered or the ETR lenses I have have some slow shutters. (Having never shot reversal film with them, either is possible & I didn't keep good enough notes as to which shot was which lens to determine if there was a pattern to the results.)

This one turned out though. There's a comparison shot of the same scene on 35mm Superia 200 at this link.

I think it might be the Petro Canada facility in Oakville.

Yep. While it was a clear sunny day, the flowers were in shade so it wasn't that bright. I think I was around f4 or so.

Thanks! Though the other dozen shots that are blurry would potentially argue it's not really cost effective.

Verdict on the Topcon D-1 I picked up last month is that it works fine, though it's got a bit of light leak along the bottom seal.

I don't often try to take macros of insects on film; generally just results in too many wasted shots. But sometimes you have to go with he equipment you've got on you.

Definitely have shot (and probably posted) the first one before, but I like the colours of the place so I wind up shooting it often. Not sure on the lens, but based on the FOV I'd guess it was probably 35mm.

Second is just a quick street shot taken with a 135mm I was testing at the time.

I got one during the Kickstarter for them and I've used it maybe twice.

It wasn't really much more convenient than regular plastic reels, other than not needing a light-free environment to load, and there were just too many limitations regarding the films you could & couldn't put through it for it to be worth my time.

Yep. Same camera as the ZX-5N.

According to the database there was one more camera with a shutter speed dial: the MZ-3. Though it's also listed as "available only in select markets", so I suspect it's not that common.

Went to an outdoor camera show yesterday; my first show in a while.

Picked up a Topcon D-1 with non-working meter. Definitely don't like it as much as the R-III I already own, but I was buying it more for the lenses it came with. OK, mostly just for one lens: this beautiful 35/2.8.

And then, as an impulse purchase, I picked up the other body for a few bucks so I could use my AF lenses on film.

My last roll of Metropolis. Never did figure out what sort of light & subjects this film works best with; doubtful I'll be buying more.

Beautiful looking camera.

Does your WLF have the little extra leg to it that locks the shutter button when it's closed?

Yeah. That was the reason for my question, as I've never seen a used Contax SLR with leatherette that didn't look like someone had taken sandpaper to it.

Very nice! Was the leatherette replaced as well, or was it still in that good of condition?

Yeah. It definitely is. Sometimes more visible than others.

IIRC I was given some spare gearing for it when I received it; I should look to see if I can find a repair manual for it.

Not shooting a whole lot lately. But here's at least one shot that turned out mostly how I expected.

Guessing there was the yellow-green filter on the lens, based on the sky & the leaves.

I've got one in Exakta mount. It's a nice enough little lens, even if it's not that fast. My biggest complaint on it is the size of that front element; worry about scratching it probably keeps me from using it more than I should.

Some street photos that I'm finally getting around to going through, despite having been scanned shortly after they were originally developed. Taken of outdoor crowds during & immediately after the final game of the 2019 NBA Finals.

Shots 1 & 2 were with a Canon F-1 & an uncertain lens — likely a 50/1.4. Unsure on the emulsion of 1 though I'd wager probably HP5, but 2 was definitely Tri-X.

Shots 3 & 4 were with a Minolta AF-C I had shoved in my pocket when I went out. Not certain the emulsion either but my guess is probably the last of either my Efke KB50 or KB100. I miss Efke for the very classic look it gave but I certainly don't miss its ability to attract dust while drying.

What Film Bodies Do We All Have

Going to update this on what happened to those bodies in the 6 years since I posted it:
The electronics on my K2 broke during a trip.
The shutter on my FTb jammed & it would have cost more to repair than it would to replace.
The Zenit... Zenited and just stopped working.
The Kiev 4A I gave to a friend who had always wanted one.
I gave away or sold the Hawkeye, perhaps? I don't recall what happened to it but I don't have it.
I sold the AE1.

I still have & use the 6x7 & Flexaret though.
