What do you do when you crack the rear element on your lens?

I replaced once the rear element of the A* 135/1.8. It was very cheap. About $40. Worth to check out if Pentax can fix it.

Is it inconceivable that an FF 645 can be sold in 2022/23 at the same price as a 645D 10 years ago?

Will Pentax use the 43 MP Sony APC sensor for the next K-3?

Not anytime soon. The K-3 III is already a killer landscape camera. An articulated screen would make the K-3 into a very thick and bulky camera; not a mm is wasted at the rear of the camera. A flip screen would have to be added to whats aready there.

Ehhh....? 95% of lens sales are zoom. Prime lenses makes most sense when they do something zooms can't do or can't do well. Such as very wide apertures and macro.....
Pentax need a modern zoom range and a modern telephoto range of lenses.....

Why is a D-FA 300mm unlikely? In my opinion it is about the most likely in this list. The DA* 300 is good optically, is already an FF lens but needs AF motor update in order to function better with the new generation of cameras.....

Regarding the 24-70; They probably want a* lens in this range built to the new demanding Pentax * standards. I suspect the current Tamron rebadge was a stop gap measure in order for them to have FF lenses available at the launch of the K-1. They were probably uncertain of how the K-1 would be received in the marked.

The reason for the lack of a flippy screen is obvious: there's no room for it while maintaining the goal of a compact body. The K-3iii is a professional grade camera body. It is the smallest of its kind ever with such a comprehensive feature set. Look at the size of the Nikon D500 and the top models from Olympus for comparison. Pentax have done a great miniaturization job.
If you look at the internals of the camera, not a mm is wasted at rear screen end. A flippy screen built to the built standards of the rest of the camera would be bulky. The camera would have ended up being unacceptably thick or they have to redesign the whole body into something larger

It looks like light leak. Are you loading the film correctly? Avoid strong direct light while loading a new roll and don't pull the tab too far out.

It does. With 15 frames the "unflatness" happen between frames. Not in them. The problem is dependent on how long time between each shot and temperature. I had this problem with my 645N. Not with my 645NII with only 15 frames.....

The original posters problem seems to be shutter related.....

LCD Panel on K3 iii

The K-3III is a very thoroughly designed camera. Unfortunately the one(s) responsible for the screen designs were not at the level of the other parts of the design team. Eg it does not show the number of frames on the top LCD panel; a real oversight in an otherwise fantastic camera. It shows cryptic messages for the Fn function and menus are not as intuitive as one previous Pentaxes.
Some of us never use the rear screen for other things that going through menus and reviewing images.....

I just don't get it. True, a flip screen is useful for shooting in weird angles but most people do this very rarely. The reason why many use the rear screen for regular photography is because the viewfinder is bad and very unhelpful for focusing critically. This is not the case with the K-3III. The finder is excellent. The AF as well. I used the rear screen a lot for critical focusing on landscapes with my K-3. I haven't used it once on the K-3III.

They wouldn't sell. They have to compete with the 24 000 000 or so normal primes K-mount lenses already in Pentax users hands.....
Pentax market strategy is to cater for the K-mount lens owners; very different from what Fuji and others with a new non-established lens mount are doing......

Is Pentax thinking about a new k1?

I find that I hardly need the screen on the K-3III. Since I got it i've only used the screen for reviewing images. Don't need tilt for that. The viewfinder is so great that using the screen for composing or focusing (except for astro/very low light work) seems a waste. In addition AF is accurate and fast and I can still bend my knees and back if needed....

You "never" get enough reach for wildlife. The 150-450 give you on APS the same angle of view as a 693mm on FF; a very long lens in anyones book. You need a 800mm lens or longer to make significant more reach when comparing to the standards we were used to in the film days. We are talking then of lenses that are hard to use and very expensive. There is no real solution other than getting closer to the subject.......

You convert neither focal length or aperture. They are fixed. They cannot be converted as they are measurable physical properties. It is all about angle of view.
Nobody claims that you cannot get APS style images from an FF camera. However, if you crop a FF image to APS size you are not comparing APS to FF anymore but APS to APS. One of them a waste of money, size and pixels.

To illustrate how subjective and situation dependent the so called objective equivalence is can be illustrated by an example:
Say, you are an astro photographer taking images of the milky way with your APS 1.4 lens. Then you figure out that you can actually rather use FF and an F:2 lens, which is much cheaper, according to equivalence. To your surprise you find that either the shutter speed gets one stop longer giving streaks and comparable to the use an F.2 lens for APS, or you have to boost ISO one stop loosing the noise advantage you presumable bought the FF camera for in the first place. There's simply no equivalence of free lunch. If you want that FF advantage over APS for this situation you have to use an F:1.4 on FF as well. What parametres you find important when comparing formats and lenses is purely subjective....
