Strange...I was thinking of either saving my cash for the GR III or spending it on replacing my 20 year old bicycle. I decided the other way. Now I just need them to announce it already...

A digital back - but is it really what serious film camera fans want?

Surely the point of film cameras is...the film? In what way is a periscope feeding a mediocre sensor in the ugliest device in the world better than scanning film?
If it kept the look of the body, I can see wannabe hipsters liking it...but proper hipsters want to use film. And proper photographers want film cameras to use film... Amateurs mostly just want a capable digital.

Who is it for??

I would guess Friday (in Japan) is probably the best bet for any significant announcement. That gives the interwebs all weekend to get frothy (either positively or negatively)...

It's now just past midnight there.

Epson Artisan 1430 $1000? Why?

Are you currently spending a lot (100s a year) getting your
Are you thinking 'maybe it would be nice to have a printer so I can try printing some stuff to put it on the wall'. No, probably you would be better off getting the occasional print done professionally. If you really get into it, invest in a printer.

I have one because I regularly change the images in frames all around the house. Print for print it probably doesn't save me much thanks to paper and inkjet ink costs when buying in small batches, but it saves me the chunk of cash that shipping costs each time and allows be to make processing errors on one print at a time.

In the end you'll never be able to print large formats or specialty finishes, but filling a photo album or frame will be quicker and easier (if not cheaper)

All 3 of those are marketplace sellers. Sometimes they think the stock they have is worth more because it is unavailable elsewhere...

How to add watermark in Lightroom?

I'm not sure about LR5, but in LR6 you can go to Edit>Edit Watermarks and then create your watermark there. The option will then be available in the Export dialog.

Doing everything from scratch on every image would be a monumental waste of time. Doing it from scratch a few times, then creating your own presets for use later is the opposite. It teaches you how everything in that preset works, what effect it has and what tweaks will be needed to any future correct issues. Then when you apply your preset later, you won't spend an hour trying to find what it is that's creating a particular problem with that image, you'll just go straight to the slider and done.

Why Do YOU Stay With Pentax?

If you live in Europe you need not worry. Your 'try it out' time starts when your order arrives and you have 14 days to return for a full refund if it doesn't suit you (EU Distance Selling Regulations) - so you are not at any disadvantage as a consumer by buying online. That said, I lived about 10 miles from an authorised stockist where I used to live and they always had one of every body and most lenses in stock to try and would match online prices if you asked, so I got my K-3II from them...the added bonus being I had it in my hands immediately. Unfortunately I have since moved to an area with very little in the way of any camera store, let alone Pentax, so I'm back to buying online...frankly it's easier and cheaper, and Wex and SRS are excellent, so I don't mind.

Now that I know my shooting style, subjects and other needs, I might be tempted away from my K-3II system. I think that I would definitely buy the GRIII when it comes out, then I might spend the change on something else. I purchased my various lenses for shooting that I rarely do, and I really wish I had a high IQ pocketable camera for taking with me everywhere.

However, I would miss my Lensbaby a lot...so I might be tempted to pick up a much older body just to keep that running.

I'm sure this seems like a perfectly reasonable alternative for those with very, very deep pockets. For me personally, third party lenses offer the opportunity to purchase quality glass for a fraction of the cost of Pentax glass. I bought my Tammy 70-200 f2.8 for a price that meant I could have bought a new K-1 to go with it and still have change from the price of the Pentax 70-200. Sure, it's a bit clunky in comparison, but optically it is excellent and more importantly, I have it whereas I just could never have the Pentax.

It is a real shame that Sigma and Tamron are not putting K mounts on their lenses any more. Nothing can be done about it, but being disappointed is perfectly reasonable.

Oh...they're a very worthy manufacturer. But you won't get 0-60 in 3s and 200mph in a carbon-fibre monocoque with race suspension and world-class styling for the price of a Corolla...that's just basic economics. I am not dissing Toyota, just pointing out you can't have all the cutting edge features for budget prices, unfortunately.

I would try to stop using presets for a while, and learn how to create the effects you want yourself, using the parameters. Then once you have found combinations you like, you can create your own presets for ease later...but have a firm grasp of how it does what it does, so you can quickly and easily go to the relevant slider if a tweak is needed. The added bonus is that your images won't look like everybody else's, and nerdy togs won't s****** into their coffee when they spot xyz preset. :)
edit: erm...so s.n.i.g.g.e.r is a type of laugh, not a swear. Seriously?

That function is called a photographer's ephemeris. I personally use Photoxor Toolkit, which is free and very full featured...it also does exposure and ND calculations, FoV and DoF calculators and tracking.

They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April. Restructuring saved them, but they were most certainly bust by most people's standards (as in, unable to pay their creditors):

I was suggesting people skills for after the shot, not before. Point the camera, take the shot and then engage your charm. Wanting to stand back and 'hide' suggests a reluctance to deal with people, which can be fixed in other ways than skulking in the bushes and whatnot.

For best results, forget the paparazzi lenses and work on your people skills instead. Shoot wide angle at close range, give a smile, say thank you and move on...9/10 times you will get a smile back, 1/10 times you might need to tell them why you wanted the photo for them to be happy, 1/100 times you might need to delete the photo, 1/1000 times you might need to run. But your images will be 100 times better.

ON1 and Pentax Profiles

If there is an embedded profile, On1 defaults to that. Or you can select from a limited selection of pre-made camera profiles (for K-3II only Landscape and Portrait are available). Or you can select one of the inbuilt ones.
