I have the 16-45 which I was shooting at 16mm f4 and was pretty happy with results until I got my 14mm 2.8 shooting at f4. Unbelevable difference the improvment with the 14 versus the 16-45. I keep finding myself having to walk up to my subject in order to fill the frame. jim

I have no idea about the KX but I do know the dark frame subtraction on the K10 is very short on timed Lightning shots at night photo's of storms. The only camera I use for these timed shots. and battery life is great. jim

No tab, it is ment to be screwed into the lens and works just like the K mount including the notch for the camera locking pin.

First couple DSLR's I bought I did then I found out about the Magic Lantern book and started using that. To me well worth the price and much easier to digest. Most of the basic operations are the same or very close. jim

Honestly I have istDL, K100, K100super, K10, and K20, all digitals and they all are capable of better photo's than my abality can accomplish. I see no reason why the KX would not do the same. Cameras and lens are no better than the operator. Go for it if you like pentax. Ps. most of the people in here are mostly friendly and try to be helpful

There is a simple cure for this problem. I push the apature pin in manuslly and use a center punch and a hammer to put a small dimple next to the pin to keep it depressed then it is stopped down with the apature ring to what ever setting you desire. jim

I have the K 20 for couple years now and two batterys is sufficant in most situations. The battery will last all day at an air show and still be ready for a couple more days of shooting also. I also have 2 4g cards 2 2g cards that I usually take with me on a shoot. So on a day trip my wardrobe would be K20 with 2 batterys , 2 memory cards BIGMA on camera and wide angle zoom in bag. Need a Bag large enough to carry a second camera as a back up, I use a K10 myself because the batteries interchange. So Camera, Lense, Bag=Large or larger because soon it will not be big enough. battery's Memory card, Lense cleaning clouth,
Personally unless your photo's dictate the need for flash then that would go way down on my list. Same with a tripod and when you do buy a tripod then definatly buy a good one. jim

On the istDL the green button is also the AE-L button just where your thumb should be. That will set your shutter speed in manuqal mode. jim

Or a lot of money........:hmm: 300mm f2.8 $3000. plus Big Ma $1100 and that isnt fast.
Close14mm 500. plus 105mm macro 100. plus and that is only a drop in the bucket and even with that lineup you still need a good pair of running shoes. There is no one lens that can do it, nor is there a zipper on ones skull so someone can unzip it and dump in instructions. jim

The Bower is the one to remove the spring clip to accomplish this. I used one on my smc Tak
300/f4 and it works great. The bower is the one that has the goofy looking key to remove it.

Famularity brings on indifference or becomes boring but put it before some one else and it becomes interesting. Example, I live within a few blocks of the Mississippi River and see it many times during the day, kinda mundane to me but in reality most of the world has never saw the beauty of it. However a ride in one of the tour boats and it becomes a new photography subject for me. Another, aqt 65 mph. on an Interstate there is nothing you see to photo. but at 20 mph. on a dirt road along that interstate rhere is all kinds of photo ops.
Slow down and see more.....jim
