Love these photos & your B&W treatment :)

Not least for it's compact size, which meant it was the tele option I picked up on the way out to test the newly arrived Riconar lens that day ! I do agree that the rendering is also a bit special.

While there can be visible blue on the wings of this species this specimen was largely black and white, and I was more interested in the form of the butterfly feeding on a flower - colour in this case seemed a distraction to that end :).

Mealybug Ladybird larva, taken with Ricoh WG-6. At first I thought this was a mealybug, or woolly aphid, but on looking it up I found it actually mimics these garden pests so it can blend in and prey on them. It is a bit of an eastern Australian specialty, has apparently been exported world wide, and is now naturalised in places such as California and the Mediterranean;

Thank you! - I like the final blue segment myself :)

Have you got the hang of leaning in or out to get focus? - many of us find it easier than focusing the lens once you close to finding your focus, even with auto-focus. I have the Super-Multi-Coated Macro-Takumar 50mm, and think it is the same optical formula. Very nice lenses.

Might be why I don't see many around in suburban gardens here. I spoke with someone once who had lived in both climates, and they rated us as a shade or so more temperate than Florida, especially in the drier months.

I didn't know that - thank you :)!. These grow particularly well here, and the shows of white flowers often live up to their snow related common names eg "Snowflake". I'm fond of the Euphorbias and have tried several of the fleshier ones in pots here but they are prone to rot in the summer humidity, unless kept under the eaves, limiting their size.
