Thanks, Adam. I use a MacBook, and it does recognize my Limited lenses, just not the 70-200 DFA*.
Thanks again.

I just did a firmware update on my K-5, but the EXIF data for my photos still does not recognize the lens type when I use the DFA* 70-200mm. The exposure information is included, including the lens focal length used for that particular shot, but it does not identify the lens as the DFA* 70-200mm.
Is there something else I can do to have the lens type included in the EXIF data?
On a side note, this is the first firmware update I've done to my K5. I was on version 1.01 or some such, and just updated with the latest version (1.16, I believe). Would this have also made all the updates in between, or the newest firmware update one only?
Thank you!

Hello everyone--
I'm thinking about switching to a mirrorless camera, probably a Fuji. Other than smaller size and lighter weight, what advantages, if any, do mirrorless cameras offer?
Are the Fuji lenses for mirrorless cameras as good as Pentax glass?
Thank you!

Hi Everyone,
I'm planning a trip overseas and am told to bring an adapter for all my electronics that will allow me to plug into "European style" outlets. The hotel where I'm staying uses US-style 110 volt (60 cycle), as well as 220 volt (50 cycle), and European-style two-prong round plugs. Not sure which of these I'll find in my room, so I want to be prepared.
The charger I bring needs to be "multi current."
Can anyone recommend an adapter for use with the Pentax K-5 camera battery charger, that will allow me to use the 220 volt and/or European-style two-prong round plug?
Thanks in advance!
Brucie

Agree with lytrytyr. The 20-40 really stands out for the wonderful colors and rendering.

I own and absolutely love both the 43 and 21 Limited lenses. The 21 is not as sharp as the FA 43, but it's still an outstanding lens with wonderful sharpness, color, and rendering.
The 43 is my favorite of all Pentax lenses and is excellent wide open or stopped down. This is the lens that brought me back to Pentax and it is very special.

Boraclicks, I don't know anything about the fungus issue, but the FA 50mm macro is a magical lens with astounding sharpness and bokeh.

Like Aquadome said, the 20-40 has superior image quality. It's a Limited.

I agree with you Fenwoodian. I am simply not interested in weather seals, but in world-class glass and image quality in a small package. This is why I use the Limited series lenses.
I have photographed in the tropics back in the film days using the great Pentax MZ-S and F-series lenses with no problems, despite humidity so thick you could cut it with a knife, and despite being caught in hours-long tropical downpours.
I think many Pentaxians are enamored of weather seals because so many great Pentax cameras of the past lacked them. The MZ-S was one of the finest film cameras ever made, and certainly the most aesthetically refined camera I've ever used. And yet it lacked weather seals. It should have had them. That said, it never stopped me from doing what I needed to.
I think it's great Pentax is addressing this issue by outfitting newer gear with weather seals, but I hope they never forget that image quality is the most important consideration for most of us.

I debated sending this lens (the 20-40 Limited) back and picking up the 31, but the way I look at it I have a "31" with the 20-40, and it is nice to be able to frame the shot on camera without having to go back and crop in PP.
The more I use the 20-40, the more I like it. I've been very impressed by the colors, sharpness, the bokeh--which is excellent--and the overall rendering. And maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way, but I love the little lens hood. It's very tasteful even if it doesn't shade the front element the way a longer hood would.
That said, I couldn't get the 21 out of my mind. So I just ordered it. I've seen many excellent photos with this little lens and I'm confident it will do what I need. The size is a tremendous advantage as far as I'm concerned. I don't care about a lens being water-resistant, but I do value being able to stand in crowds and take photos without drawing too much attention. I believe the 21 will be a top-notch lens for street photography.
Thank you for your comments and photos (and LBA encouragement)! :)
