Thank you. I went in and corrected the description to what it SHOULD have been. So sorry for the confusion. I truly have no idea what happened. The text that was in there was from an earlier listing for a k1 I sold. I have sent a message to the moderator as I said and awaiting a reply as it is weird how every other bit of information was ok except the description. Ugh! Thanks again and I truly hope you understand.

Selling the k3. A typo I will fix.

Can't seem to edit description, but THE CAMERA IS A K3 as shown in images and box, NOT A K1!

Wow - I don't know what happened to my listing description, but it is really messed up. The photos are accurate showing all that comes with it. Please be sure it is what you want. Here is what you are getting:

K3 body - with shutter count 34,803

Tamron 18-250 f3.5-6.3 zoom lens

manual, software, av cables, me cap, hot shoe cover, pentax neck strap, pentax battery charger and power cord, 2 aftermarket batteries, after market charge with an extra 12v cigarette charger cable

Two battery grips with their respective AA battery grips. One is the Pentax D-BG5. The other is an aftermarket grip for the K7 modified to fit and work on the K3.

Infrared remote control
Wired remote control

An adapter to fit screw mount lenses to pentax k mount

Two extra focus screens with different patterns that can be swapped

A Tamron 1.4 AF teleconverter

Extension tube for macro work (3 pieces)

I swapped the original eye piece out for one that was more comfortable. If I recall correctly it magnifies the viewer a bit. I am including the original eye cup as well.

Item for Sale
Pentax K-1 and Accessories

Asking Price
1,600.00 USD

Item Location
NC (United States)

Item Description
I am selling my nearly new Pentax K-1, bought in December from B&H.

Being somewhat bull headed, I ignored the reviews, forum posts and comments about it not being a good choice for sports photography. While it worked exceptionally well in well lit sports (ie outdoor sports), *I* struggled using it for low light, fast indoor sports (gymnastics, horseback riding). So I have decided to try a different setup. It represents too much money for me to use it so little, especially as photographing sports is MY thing.

Included:

K-1 Body (shutter count is 1392)
Pentax af360fgz flash
Off camera flash cord
Extra pentax li90 battery
Original box and included items (manual, software cd, registration card, unopened Pentax neck strap, eyepiece cover, charger, power cable)
Unopened camera case from B&H

I did place one of the static protective lcd covers on it to keep the lcd clean. I wasn't worried about getting the air bubbles out, so you will see them on the images of the lcd.

Any questions please contact me.

Shipping to continental US only and is included in purchase price.

For sale is a used, very nice Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 (Pentax Mount) lens. I just bought it from B&H last month, did 2 or 3 test shots and put it away, awaiting my K-1. Due to its wonderful condition, it is being sold as is.

Tamron f2.8 70-200 Pentax Mount

Asking Price
525.00 USD

Item Location
NC (United States)

Item Description
For sale is a used, very nice Tamron f2.8 70-200 Pentax Mount) lens. It has been a wonderful lens for my sports and wildlife photos. Functions perfectly. There is some brassing on the locking knob for the tripod mount due to rubbing against my neck strap. (see photo below) Obviously it does not affect image quality. The lens is being sold as is due to its great condition. I am selling it as I am upgrading some of my equipment and no longer need it.

This works well with FF K-1, no vignetting.

Included:

Original box and paper work
Lens
Lens hood
front and rear lens caps
Lens bag

Somewhere in the forum a member posted about use of a 3rd party, 95 mm lens hood for their Sigma 50-500 lens. Doing multiple searches has not turned up the post.

So - does anyone use a 3rd party (not tulip shaped) lens hood on the newer Bigma. Sigma 50-500mm F/4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM. Again - 95 mm thread size.

Any Regrets After Switching from Canon to K-1?

As mentioned before, you might want to try renting a k-1 to get a feel for its capabilities and put to rest any remaining uncertainty you might have. I have a k-3 and was debating about going to a k-3ii or all in on a k-1. I found my Tamrons (24-75 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8) would all work in FF mode. My walk about 18-250 was an APS-C and while I could make it work with some post processing in FF mode, it would work just fine in crop mode of the k-1. I rented the k-1 from lensrentals.com and frankly it pushed me over the edge and I bought my own k-1. You could get the k-1 and a lens for a few days and then feel very comfortable with which way you wanted to go.

Either way I am sure you will be happy with what you got, and hope the new body just gets you revved up to shoot some more!!!

Ah - good old Hunt Horse arena. I've shot there many times and was wondering how the k-1 / 70-200 combo would work. Nice shot in VERY challenging lighting conditions. Have you photographed any Cowboy Mounted Shooting there? One coming up February 18-19, 2017. I am going to try and make that one and give the camera & lens a good workout. Here is a so-so image from my k-3 / 70-200 combo so you can see what I will be trying to capture with the k-1! Definitely a challenge - natural light+fluorescent light+mercury vapor(?), dark animals moving quickly on dark dirt surface amongst residual smoke from black powder being ignited! You know - the easy stuff! LOL!

K-1 and Sigma 50-500 INDOOR photography?

Remember the operative word is "can". It generally means I have to do more post processing. Here are a couple images taken with a Tamron f2.8 28-75 on my K3. You can see more of the type of images I take on my website: Rick's World. I am the photographer for the Wake County Senior Games and venues include but not limited to outdoor tracks, bowling alleys, pool halls, gymnasiums and swimming pools! You can easily imagine my interest in a zoom that would reach out a bit more! Folks kind of enjoy seeing themselves doing their thing!

The first one is at 1/1000, f2.8, ISO 3200 I don't recall how much I had to lighten it in Lightroom PP, but it was probably 1.5-2 stops.

The second one at 1/1000, f2.8, ISO 4000[/URL].

You are correct - stating RAW was a miscommunication between my brain and fingers. I actually meant JPEG, but perhaps the speed gain does come from cropped mode.

---------- Post added 01-03-2017 at 07:20 AM ----------

Thank you. That was my gut feeling. I am also able to get quite close to the participants and current use a f2.8 70-200 at the 1/500th speed at ISO 3200. Sometimes if I am willing to under expose a bit and fix in post processing I will either increase the shutter speed or drop the ISO.

After hitting the reserve fund for a k-1 (love it and worth the $$$$ hit!) I don't want to drop even more on a lens in which I would find myself disappointed. I am thinking at this point to stay with the 70-200 and if I need extra reach, switch to crop mode.

I was wondering if you found using the prime with pre-focusing a bit easier with VB than perhaps a sport like basketball where participants cover more ground when moving toward/away from you.

It was recommended I start a new thread about this, so - I was wondering if anyone has shot this lens on a K-1 for indoor sports. I am considering it to shoot sports such as indoor basketball and volleyball. Wondering if it would be necessary to bump up the ISO to 6400 or if it could handle it a bit lower and still keep a reasonable (1/500th +) shutter speed? How about its autofocus in that environment?

Any experiences would be appreciated!

I understand the k-1 is not designed to be a sports camera, but its default 4.5 fps will work for what I want. I also believe I read somewhere if shooting in JPEG you can get about 6 fps (unverified) but I am familiar with what I am shooting so that helps me plan my shots.

EDITED to change "RAW" to "JPEG"
