No, I actually haven't. The only thing I've tried is a micro-fiber cloth. Do you know where I can purchase camera lens cleaning solution?

I have a lens that has a small ink stain towards the border far away from the center. Does anyone how I could clean it? I'm not the first owner of the lens.

Let me know what you guys think. First shot with the K 135/2.5. Great lens, btw. Extremely sharp and easy to use.

DA 55-300mm vs DA* 60-250mm: FL question

The DA 55-300 is not very sharp past 210mm or so in my testing. So, in that regard, I think the extra FL is not an advantage.

Am I the only one who really enjoys shooting portraits with this lens? It's a bit wide for them, but they're really fun to do with this lens.

Question About Manual Focus

So, I have found great deals on the K 135/2.5 and the M* 300/4. Both of them are in pristine condition. My only question that given the applications of these lenses that I'd be using them for, for example birding and graduations, would the manual focus be problematic? I don't really shoot outside the 15mm to 100mm much, so I'm trying to get older, quality glass in this range.

That's true, but the DA 55-300mm does not have the best IQ at the long end.

Graduation is hosted at my school at our football field. It's always outdoors. For shooting from the stands, would a 100mm lens be good to get shots of people on the stage? Normally you're within half the width of the football field in relation to the stage.

That's true, although I've found that my DA 15/4 Limited allows me to cover the wide end with satisfaction. The reason I was asking about the kit is because there is a relatively large gap between the FA 77/1.8 Limited and the DA* 200/2.8, but I can't think of anything else that should be there.

So, here's a question. If you know that you don't use zooms, as in you've had a zoom, but always opted for a prime in that range, and you had the following lenses, would you feel like you've got your bases covered for almost everything?

Pentax DA 15/4 Limited
Pentax DA 35/2.8 Limited
Pentax DA* 55/1.4
Pentax FA 77/1.8 Limited
Pentax DA* 200/2.8

Would it be wise to pickup an MF lens for a graduation, for example? This is assuming that my MF skills are bad, which I don't think they are, but I don't know.

I'm not very big on third-party lenses. I've used Tamron and Sigma lenses before, and the build quality, even in the high-end, is still lacking compared to Pentax's mid-level lenses.

Right, but it comes down whether or not it's necessary to have two telephoto primes or just one telephoto zoom is sufficient? That's where I can't decide.

I currently have the DA 55-300/4-5.8, which is a great lens, but I'd like something with constant aperture throughout the range that's faster. The two options that I'm considering are the DA* 200/2.8 and DA* 300/4 or just the DA* 60-250/4. (Of course, I have assorted primes from the ultra-wide to short-telephoto range.) Which option would you choose? If it matters, I normally shoot between the ultra-wide to normal range. I only want something better in this range for long-distance photography such as shooting graduations or wildlife. Please let me know what you guys think!

Thanks for the response. I made some adjustments to the first four. Also, I boosted the colors because the ones straight out of the camera weren't good. Although, I think the auto-tone boosted the exposure and made them seem weak.

I absolutely love this lens, it's my new favorite lens. I use it even more than my Pentax DA 35/4 Macro Limited, which was my favorite before this one. Of course, I think it might be the feeling of novelty that the DA 15/4 still has. I've provided links to some samples. Please let me know what you guys think.

So, question. Would you guys pick the DA* 200/2.8 and the DA* 300/4 or just the DA* 60-250/4?
