Yes, I have tried some. Ones with gel padding on the palm were best, but I can still only go for much shorter rides than I used to. The most effective thing is basically sit upright as I can and put as little actual weight on the hands as possible.

Tried a recumbent bike a few times, but my reflexes just donít want to adjust to the way they handle. Pretty comical to watch, though...

I like bikes, but most of ‘em don’t like me anymore... Carpal tunnel plus nerve damage at the C7/T1 foraminera (ulnar nerve) makes most handlebar designs intolerable. Which sucks.

Telemedicine is going to get a big boost from the pandemic. My wifeís primary care clinic and most of their nationwide system is being trained, equipped, and required to start doing virtual visits (like it or not). Although this, along with the demand from new telework and gotta-keep-in-touch folks has made it damn near impossible to find new webcams... Half the computers at her clinic are sporting personal gear now.

Oh yes... Try finding a webcam or headset at the moment, too. The only ones left in stock are wayyyy out of our budget.

Yep, they roll 'em across the freeway and over onto the Paine Field tarmac where they have even more buildings doing stuff to the planes. Final finishing, painting? "Stuff"

My brother lives just a couple of miles from the Shed

As a Washingtonian, don't put a great deal of faith in having no new cases here yesterday. They only update the numbers once a day, and if they didn't get numbers sent up from each county Public Health Office, they won't be reflected on the state site.

Believe me, there is still a great big heap of concern here. My wife's a family practice doc, and from her level in the trenches the outlook is the same. Lots of people are staying home, but pretty good numbers are out and around too. We can only guess at the fraction doing essential stuff. Basically still keeping fingers crossed and hoping the state can get the logistical support it will need. The peak ain't here yet.

Well, my sister has a possible/probable infection going... Fever ~2 degrees F, bit of a dry cough, achy and generally crummy feeling. She is putting herself into isolation. Problem is that our mum (age 84) lives there too. They can pretty well separate themselves, but still... She is in good health, so keeping lots of fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for the next few weeks!

Sweet! Thanks very much... Just got back home from some outings (that the spouse considers essential), so just saw this. I will pass along the info to the diver who found them.

The 18 is *probably* the year of production, but apparently some headstamp designs also used 1 to 3 digits as a code for the manufactory. What intrigues me is the 6-pointed star to the right of it, and the design to the left. So far, Google images have not shown any 6-point stars like that one.

The lettering above might be "U S" then a "G" or "C", something, "C"?, "O"? Hard to tell given the condition.

Got a detective question for anyone who might be into old military ammunition collecting. The attached photos are an item collected on a dive recently, in the waters of Port Townsend, Washington. In the era between WW 1 and post-WW 2, this town has had strategic importance as a gateway into Puget Sound and the Seattle area with all its defense industry and shipping. As found, there are 4 rounds in a stripper clip. They're rimless brass cases, probably .30 caliber (he has not measured it exactly), the overall condition is about what you expect from brass in that era in saltwater and likely buried in sand most of that time. The case design rules out the possibility of .303 Lee-Enfield (sorry Bertwert), but the headstamp isn't much help so far. This one is about as good as I could get (B/W definitely brings out more detail).

The primer crimp and the 6-pointed star ought to help, but the most important portion is the worst condition.

Any suggestions? Google has offered up either no help at all, or too damn much help depending on your point of view...
