ok well that was the deal breaker for me. I take alot of photos of my children & fast/effective af-c is important because they are always moving.

works well on my k-x so looks like I will wait for the k-30

I was going to purchase a k-01 and had a look at one in the store. I could not get AF-C (tracking mode) to work correctly ? I had the camera in AF-C mode I think and set it to center focus but whenever I moved the camera around it would not re-focus most of the time. Sometimes it worked but extremely slow ?

Is this normal ?

I only shake the sensor after I change the lens. I always shake about 3 times in a row after a lens change.

I paid $950 for an FA31 only 4-5 months ago. Now it is $1150 so it has gone up $200 or %18

I think it is a combination of lack of supply & the US printing to many dollars which is devaluing the currency.

New FA 31mm, couple questions

If its like my fa 31mm you need to check & adjust the focus. Grab a focus chart, set it to f1.8 and adjust accordingly.

Not really sure why but other users report that they back focus on a the K-x body.

Also it is not the easiest lens to use. Focus from f1.8-f2.5 is a bit hit or miss on my K-x in low light. I am getting some very nice results with it but it does require some effort !

Front/Back Focus issue - Is it the camera's problem or is it the lens?

Interesting ! I just downloaded the focusing chart. Printed it out & set aperture to f1.8 on my FA31mm. I found my K-x needed +70 !

Reason I checked is that I was noticing that face shots focused on the eyes were blurry with 5cm behind their face in focus. You could see part of the hair in focus.

If you change lenses often it is a good idea to turn on the shake on power on function.

M42 bellows + slide copier

I have a K-x .... I thought 50mm would be to long. I was told that I would need a wide like a 28mm due to the crop factor?

I do have an M42 takumar 1.4 50mm & an M42 helios 58mm which will screw straight on. The takumar is very sharp. Also has anyone tried copying slides with the slide copier using a DSLR ? Is the IQ any good or am I wasting my time ?

M42 bellows + slide copier

yeah looks like that is the way to go. I just ordered a macro extension set from ebay for $6.80 and from the pics it looks like one side is threaded & the other is the pk mount. I may need a coupler to match the thread but will measure that when it arrives but hope it is 42mm thread & will screw straight in.

Can anyone tell me if the slide copier is any good for scanning slides ?

Is it possible to adapt an M42 bellows + slide copier to PK mount. I know I can buy an adapter for the camera side of the bellows but I was wondering what happens with the lens-end. I was planning on using an M 28mm f2.8 lens. Is this possible to attach to the bellows ??

If you use a wide angle like a 15mm at say F11 you dont ever need to focus because pretty much everything is in focus anyway. Otherwise manual focus in movie mode isnt that bad.

I have a 50 f1.2 & the only way I can nail focus is to go to liveview mode on my k-x. Then hit the info button & magnify the LCD screen to about 6-10*

then focus/shoot. Nails focus even with the razor thing dof at f1.2
