The Raynox Macro club

I've tried to get really crisp shots with my raynox 250, but a whisper of the wind is enough to throw the focus off, let alone the bugs.

I've also had eye laser surgery and while I now can see far, I'm struggling to focus on close objects too.

Any tips?

Yes I have bought from B & H and it pays to use them ....even moreso now. I bought a Raynox 250 lens - including p&p, plus 1.72 GST converted into CAD = 82 or thereabouts. Henrys was 120 plus taxes. There was no duty on the lens too

Wouldnt the difference in lenses have any impact on the blind tests? It seems F4 Pentax lens might have been better compared to the Nikon Zoom

I bought a macro lens attachment from B & H. The brand has momentarily slipped my mind. Henrys wanted 129 CAD plus gst. B & H was 48US plus 25 P &P. I paid a further 2.72 for Canadian GST. After conversion it was about 84CAD. quite a difference from 129 plus tax. Go figure.

Thanks B & H

Hello all

I'm originally South Africa and living in Oakville - my name is not "Yebo Gogo". I think the direct translation from one of the African dialects means "Hello Granny" which I picked up from a TV ad that was pretty famous in SA.

If you meet any other South Africans - say "Yebo" which is a form of greeting

If you're in the surrounding area and you have a 70-200mm 2.8 for me to test shoot....need I say more.

All the best
Warren

I have seen many posts on upgrading - my retailer will give me back 50% on my camera if I upgrade to something better (within 1 year of purchase). Would you recommend me upgrading to the K20D?

Thanks

Hi all

I'm taking a family trip to Disney (Orlando) and considering doing some window shopping for a new lens like the 70-200mm HSM Sigma for k200D. Any recos of some good stores that stock Pentax, preferably where the family can look at clothes while I browse the boy's toy store?

Thanks

A recent post showed some plane photography using a 100mm-300 f4 I think, and the images were simply amazing - the question is - where in Pearson international - Toronto can you take commercial airliner photos without getting into trouble?

thanks

Pentax rentals

Since Henrys. Vistek and other rental companies don't rent Pentax mount lenses.

Would forum members rent out their specific lens to other members at similar rates to what Henrys rents out Nikon glass, and at similar prices?

Just a question.

Taken with a K200d and 50-200 mm lens. Considering this is an entry level camera and an entry level user, I felt a bit odd with all the Canon and Nikon owners with their prime and f2.8 lenses. Nonetheless, I was happy with the outcome but always looking to improve particularly as to autofocus and exposure.

Many others were either over / under exposed. I was shooting mostly manual with overcast conditions (set as the white balance). On occasions, the clouds came and went and I forgot to reset things. I mainly played with the speed alternating between 1/350 or slower if overcast.

S-Focus was used instead of continuous. Perhaps I should have used continuous, as I had one try scorer run at full tilt towards me. Suffice to say, the photo did not come out.

Any tips most welcome. These were shot Jpg, but am willing to try the RAW format.

I would like to try a Blue Jays game, but dont know if I'm allowed to take my camera in - any tips welcome:p

Recent photos taken from the churchill rugby Cup in toronto - comments most welcome

I felt like the odd one out - all other Nikonians and Canon users surrounded me with their 300~500 mm bazooka lenses

I'm still learning the camera and know my settings left much to be desired. When the action is on, its difficult to monkey around with the menu settings. Since my lens was rather limited, I checked which team was stronger and played the waiting game in anticipation of the game coming my way.
