I have been after a Pentax ME SE for some time and have just bought one.
The few I have seen have always been chrome, with brown leather, and a diagonal split image screen, and the AOCo Asahi engraving on the pentaprism housing. A delightful example of a popular camera, in near mint condition!
It will be sent off for a full professional service.
There is very little info about them online.

Absolutely agree, I have found the same, makes a really "Handy" package on the K-1. The 24-70 is such a lump!

You weren't using a tripod or support with SR still turned on were you? I think that can produce results like this.....
My test results (on K-1) don't show this odd unsharpness, it DOES look like your image shows image or sensor movement.

What a lot of old fuss!!
I have been using Sigma 12-24mm. 24-70mm and 150-500mm on my K-1 and yes, I have the scratch!!
It's horizontal, in the black finish, above the lens mount and underneath the Pentax logo AND IT IS MINUTE, TINY, THIN AND FAINT.
I am not the slightest bit concerned about it.

Each to his own. I am finding the top control wheels useful, and encouraging me to use features.
The multiway monitor is genius! I never used a camera with an articulated screen and didn't think I would need one, but I am finding it useful and using it. For me these ARE benefits.
I suspect the next Pentax full frame camera WILL lack some of these refinements. and be overall LOWER specification to make Pentax Full frame an aggressive player in the mass market!:)

I have tested my three Sigma lenses, the 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 DG EX, the 24-70mm f2.8 DG EX HSM and the 150-500mm f5.6-6.3 APO HSM on my new K-1.
They ALL work fine, quiet fast autofocus, no camera freezing or other apparent issues.:)

Pentax 28-105 is the new comparatively inexpensive "Kit Lens" for the K-1, obviously.
If it comes in a kit at a good price it might be a sensible buy, if its WR and HD, if not a tempting price, body only for me.

Mine needed a new motor and MR sensor, and it got updated ones. It cost me around £80 UK pounds, ($114) if I recall correctly.
Once you can trust the lens again it is a fine tool!

That Theta 360degree stuff is a novelty, a gimmick, like "fisheye lenses" that have been available for decades, and 3D movies and TV.
Despite enthusiastic re-launches of these technologies over the years, the vast majority of potential consumers just don't want the gimmicks, which will always command only small numbers of committed fans.
