Misc Home Bar Project

Haven't been doing much photography lately because other hobbies, life, and work get in the way. But, I have been chronicaling a DIY home project I've been working on for awhile. It has morphed from a home bar into a home English Pub and I'm currently working on the "Judge's Paneling" for the walls. I'm going to upgrade one of the windows too, so that's slowing things down a little, plus have had to mill my own trim since I couldn't find any in a Roman Ogee pattern. Anywho, here's a couple shots spaced-out over time to where it's at today...

I know the feeling. Same with me. Good intentions, but with how busy I've been I forgot to even start the month. There's always January I guess.

I may try to jump back in with the Auto Rikenon f1.4/55mm M42. I've been sporadic at shooting except for documenting projects and the occaisional trip. Perhaps this will motivate me. I haven't really used this lens since purchasing it as I discovered a scratch on the rear element when I received it. I had been trying to get a Tomioko lens for awhile, and thought this one would fit the bill, but the scratch put me off. I'll need the wide aperture too since it's winter here.

Glad you decided to keep with the 85. What's 8mm anyway (vs the 77) on full frame that you can't learn to take a step back. I have to agree with Sara even though I haven't been around this forum much lately. Haven't been shooting much of anything lately actually, as I've been trying to finish the bar I'm building. However, as a member of the Original Single in September, which started this long-running absurdity, the whole point of the month is to learn the lens. Unless there's a mechanical failure or some other such issue, challenge yourself to do new and different things with the lens you start with: abstracts, minimalism, throw an extension tube on and do macro, etc... That'll keep the interest going. Here's my ongoing project. Clicking it will lead to my flickr album of it.

Great use of flare for effect vs just a byproduct of where the sun happened to be.

Mont Blanc from Saleve. IIRC it was a 14 shot stitch...an upper set and a lower set each merged individually, then upper and lower halves combined.

Geneva from the top of Saleve. I believe this was just 5 shots.

Had a gorgeous day in Geneva yesterday on a layover, so went up Mont Saleve in France for the look down at Geneva and across to Mont Blanc. The Geneva was a 6 shot stitch and the Mt. Blanc was 14...two rows of 7 portrait layout panos. Shot with my K20D and SMC-F 35-70.
