I purchased this lens from Ebay awhile ago. It is a Tamron 28-105mm AF 1:4-5.6 (IF). The lens was reasonably priced, and brand new in box with full warranty. Interestingly, all of the Exif data shows this lens to be a Pentax FA 28-105mm. Were the two lenses manufactured together? Would anyone know why there is a connection between the two lenses? I am amazed at the versatility of this lens (DA L 55-300mm). I am just learning, so I don't do the lens justice. But, I really love it and hope to keep improving. IMGP2845 by Oceanside55, on Flickr

This is my first post to the lens club. This lens is an older generation 90mm with macro. I have tried to find it listed in the lens reviews, but not sure it's there. I am really enjoying the lens, and hope to get better with experience. IMGP3618 by Oceanside55, on Flickr

I just upgraded to the K-5 and found a deal at London Drugs in Canada (both instore and online) for $999.99, body only. I added one WR lens (18-55) for $1,149.99. The website says these prices (and there are other K-5 and lens combo deals) will be in effect until Dec.26.

I read this thread today, and have to add that recently I watched the Beatles in A Hard Day's Night, and to my delight, there was Ringo in the famous walk about scene snapping away with a Pentax SLR. He even had some extra gear with it to attempt a shot with the camera sitting on a rock (it fell off the rock into the water). I also seem to remember another scene of the other Beatles in a limo, and one of them (maybe George Harrison) was holding a Pentax and shooting out the limo's window at the screaming girls. Memories from a long time ago....

Hello to Everyone!
Well, what can I say, but this is such an honor to be allowed a part on this forum! I have loved photography for over 30 years, and have shot on a film SLR for most of them. I admit that I succumbed to the "instant" camera as I raised my family, however I never gave up on my SLR and would grab for it often. Now I have entered the digital age and am totally amazed at what can be done digitally. Wow! To be able to see a shot, decide to keep it or let it go... I would have never dreamed it possible! I have started this new era in a modest way, by deciding on a K-x with a 2 lens kit. I'm not ashamed to admit that this will be enough to keep me guessing for awhile! And I still grab for my film SLR whenever I am in need of comfort.
Thanks to all of you for your amazing insights and expertise! However... I am staying up WAY TOO LATE reading them all... but please keep them coming!!
