Landscape Neutral Density filters

I was really disappointed in the build quality and the image artifacts left by the Breakthrough Polarizer I purchased and quickly returned. I compared it against even an old Cokin and it left more color artifacts. Yes, I told the company. I have a 10-stop ND filter from Haida which is very affordable and has provided me with profitable images.

Zeiss Milvus 18mm f2.8 on the K1

Very cool. Earlier this year I Leitaxed an 18mm f3.5 Zeiss Distagon ZF. While the lens is not highly regarded in Nikon land, I've been super happy with its performance, and relatively smaller size. The purple fringing has been more manageable than with the Zeiss Distagon ZK 35mm f2.

Try to find a used Rotatrim which should be just within your budget. They are very precise and last a lifetime. I just used mine to trim 35 prints for an exhibition, perfectly.

Super-telephoto a pipe dream on Pentax FF?

Though I have and enjoy my K-1, I've been shooting wildlife and sports with Canon bodies for the past ten years. I would suggest you add the Nikon 200-500 f5.6 to your list as the optical quality may surpass the Sigma Sport. I'm not convinced that the Sigma Sport is any better than the Sigma Contemporary; I've rented the latter on my Canon 5D Mark III. I compared it with the Tamron G1 150-600mm and thought they were essentially the same; I've owned the Tamron G2 for the past year and think it is better than the Sigma Contemporary optically and IS-wise. The D750 is a nice camera, but the build quality is a step below both the K-1 and the Canon 5D franchise. I've borrowed the D500 and think that is the best wildlife camera available, amazingly accurate AF and excellent resolution. That plus the 200-500mm should get you far.

Advice on potentially switching from Canon to Pentax

I've been shooting both Pentax and Canon systems for the past 10 years; Pentax even longer. Your 6D is still a very good camera. I'd advise you rent a Canon 80D and try that. It has a modern higher dynamic range sensor, a tilty LCD, and really good AF and a fairly fast FPS. The lens selections for Canon vs. Pentax gets broader and deeper every week and over time that will matter to you beyond your current go-to lenses. I have a K-1 and enjoy it a lot, especially for the LCD capabilities, but bemoan the weak lens offerings.

Apple's Photos High Sierra versus Lightroom

I wouldn't deal with Photos because its raw compatibility engine is dependent upon Apple's OS upgrades. This is unlike post-processing-specific tools like LR and Affinity Photo whose publishers upgrade the apps as needed more frequently than Apple does. Looking at your requirements, unfortunately most of the apps cited here do not have the image management capabilities that Lightroom offers. MacPhun says that Luminar will that these soon, and I believe Affinity has similar goals.
LR 5 was surpassed by LR 6 over two years ago. In digital dog years, especially for photography, that's quite a long time ago. I don't think Adobe's not providing official support is a big black mark as plenty of online resources exist that provide better assistance. Consider spending the $10 per month on LR CC (since you know how LR works, and the CC version is way better than 5) until other vendors get their catalog and image management act together. This should happen by year's end. Then you can try a few out and see if transitioning is worthwhile. You are only out a small amount of money.

Replacement Neck Strap (for lug attachment)?

Bosstrap is comfortable, strong, light and easy to fold/compress and store in a bag. I use it with my K-1 and grip; and have used a second one with a gripped Canon 5D mk3 + Tamron 150-600mm lens on six mile hikes. Just requires one lug. Far better than any tripod-mounted strap, & I've had several highly acclaimed ones.

Zeiss 25mm f/2 on Pentax K1

So, after another week how is the lens performing for you? I'm strongly considering doing the same thing as the Leitax conversion as the ZF2 18mm worked out so well for me. I like the 25mm focal length and had come close to purchasing the ZK 2.8 version, but your post got me thinking. It's the lack of purple fringing as much as anything that is persuasive.

Looking for good Polarizing Filters

The well-written Polish site LensTip evaluated and ranked circular polarizing filters in 2009. I ended up purchasing the top-ranked Marumi DHG Super Circular P.L.D and have been super pleased. I purchase the size that accommodates my largest lens (82mm) and then just hold the thing over my other lenses and rotate to taste. Over the past three years I've had disappointing quality control issues with B+W filters I've purchased. I think they are relying upon past reputation.

Recommendations for messenger (or other) bag for Pentax K-1

1. While the Tenba has no formal tripod holder straps, I have on a few occasions placed a 17-in Manfrotto CF across the length on top and secured it down with the substantial top flap which covers the whole bag. Worked well enough.
2. What is "too big?" You cannot have a compact bag and also carry as much gear as you desire with any sense of elegance or sustainability. When things get too heavy or bulky for me I use my Lowepro Protactic 450 AW backpack which is also amazing.
3. A laptop slot is far handier than I ever imagined, if not for a slim laptop, then for prints or a portfolio.

Recommendations for messenger (or other) bag for Pentax K-1

I've had the Tenba Messenger DNA 15 for the past year. I recommend it. It has a removable camera insert that can hold 2-3 lenses & at least one body. Also both a laptop and a tablet. Very well built, waterproof. Has a hip belt if needed. The only negative is the shoulder strap and pad, which just isn't ergonomic. I replace it with a Tom Binh strap and pad.
amazon.com : Tenba Messenger DNA 15 Camera and Laptop Bag - Graphite (638-381) : Photographic Equipment Bags : Books?tag=pentaxforums-20&

Peak Design stuff is totally gimmicky and dysfunctional. I had the Everyday large Backpack and it was great looking but silly in use and I returned it after two weeks.

is 300 ppi really recommended for printing?

You know, I think you are onto something there. I will, very rarely, but it happens. . .give an outrageous quote to a potential client who appears to be a massive PITA to work with. Often, that's enough to have them disappear. I didn't follow your earlier posts, but surely there are other printers? Or there are plenty of online resources. For a 20x30 poster you only need a PPI of 180-220 anyway or even less. Smugmug claims a resolution of 1920x1280 works with their EZPrints service.

800 PPI makes me question the digital literacy of your printer. Consider finding another shop where folks may just have a better understanding of their requirements. If you want to test how your image looks printed out at 20x30, see if there is a Costco near you. Their printing is surprisingly good, and you can download a printer/paper profile from the Dry Creek site for soft proofing. Costco charges $10US for a 20x30 poster which should give you an idea.

Thanks for the notice.
The easiest way to read magazines, for free, is to see if your public library subscribes to the Zinio service. This let you download current (and past) editions of full length magazines into your mobile device and read them via the Zinio app. You will also be notified of the latest issues automatically. I read about 10 magazines and journals (including Aperture) regularly on my iPad this way.

Negative Adorama Experience; buyer beware

That sounds absolutely horrible--like a kind of horror movie that the lead character cannot escape from. I recently had an excellent experience selling a lens to KEH. They have you estimate the lens' value according to criteria on their website. They then evaluate what you send them and provide an offer. Their evaluation came in a full 20% higher than what I estimated (and I know the markets pretty well) and my check arrived within two days.
Hopefully you'll get this straightened out very soon.

Fullframe or APS-C for sports or bird photography

It's a tough call and really depends on which brand is ahead of the game when you decide to jump in. In the mid-2000s I moved from a Pentax K20D to a Canon 7D for shooting sports as my job suddenly required it and the Pentax couldn't keep up. I would have gone with a Nikon D300 at the time, but the first version 80-400mm lens from Nikon was simply terribly slow for sports, so I went with the 7D and a 100-400L. Since then I've sold the 7D in favor of the 5D Mark III. I use both cameras for both birds and sports. The 5D has superior AF and resolution of images after cropping. If I wasn't planning on retiring from sports shooting next year, I would pick up the 5D Mark IV as its AF is superb.
That all said, if I was starting out as a new shooter today I'd probably purchase the Nikon D500 and either the Nikon 200-500mm or the Tamron G2 150-600mm. I borrowed the D500 and the AF is the best I've ever used. Responsive and accurate. That would also set me up for a D5 or D810 (or its replacement) for the future. These cameras seem to have somewhat better capabilities than Canon's latest and greatest (which themselves are quite good really).
Serious value with shooting Nikon or Canon comes from third party support. I've owned both the G1 and the G2 Tamron 150-600 mm f6.3 and for the money they are real bargains in both optics and performance, especially the G2. I also rented the Sigma Contemporary 150-600mm f6.3 which is a tad better than the Tamron G1 but not up to the G2. I've also used the Tamron Tap-In Console (very similar to the Sigma Dock) to fine tune the AF on the G2. It takes a fair amount of patience taking all the baseline shots so the software can be configured correctly, but the results are wonderful--as good as any Canon OEM lens I've owned or rented.
Hope this helps.

Not quite. . .I would assume that Sigma has their own market data that showed how poorly Pentax-related sales have performed in relation to their own product requirements. I would think this data correlates to some extent with Pentax-branded camera product sales. And then add on the market information they obtain from people who are on the front lines selling stuff who can fill in the blanks about brand chatter, demand, buzz etc. Must be pretty quiet out there.
