I have a few, mostly shot over the weekend. The first two are from one of those walks where I'm almost certain I should not bring the camera with me (k3ii and 55-300plm in this case), but I ended up liking the tree quite a bit.

Season for roses, many of my gr iii photos are close ups

and a heavy heavy crop from the back row with the gr :)

Difference between K mount and M42 mount 15mm/F3.5 (with aspherical element)

It's in the title, the 15mm f 3.5

welcome!

My guess is that it's small sample variation, of opinion and not lens to lens variation. If you look at the K version, only one review has the various rating criteria filled in (sharpness, aberrations, etc), and that particular user didn't like the lens as much as the 12 for the m42 version. And even comparing the overall score, 7 vs 12 answers are quite few.

I am also using filmic more often than not, default settings, really liking it for "normal" photos.

yep :)

Also wanted to add that, unsurprisingly since it shoots dng, darktable works perfectly with the gr iii

The FA 43 has been part of my default concert kit for the past year with the k3ii, together with the da 70 (and sometimes da 21). With this setup the focal length works better than the fa 35 or fa 50 (tried both before), and it's still fast enough for most terrible light situations (the examples before were relatively well lit).

Not from what I gather, see for example the da 10-17 (100 deg horizontal at longest fl) compared to da 17-70 (70deg at widest and same 17mm fl)
I admit I only looked at these numbers and didn't do much more research past finding a just one post with formulae on how to calculate the angle of view given focal length and projection (last link), so maybe there's more to it

I don't know Australian prices, but as another option you may be able to find a used but not abused da 10-17 for not much more than that, I recently got that lens and it's a pleasant surprise

And it just occurred to me it may not be the same kind of wrestling? :) but either way, focal lengths and ring size should be sort of close all in all.

Haven't kept too many in my flickr account from when I was shooting wrestling, but if it helps give a sense of framing, here's one with the FA 100 wr macro, not cropped much if any, standing on the edge of the pad, so much closer than what you're expecting

I've used the 55-300 plm, which has the same aperture at the long end as your sigma, for indoors with good light. Just my guess, I think the noise penalty with the k3ii was worth avoiding to crop as much as a say 100mm lens would have required.

This may not be exactly what you asked for, but I've shot quite a bit of wrestling.

Do you have a press pass or shooting from the audience? For the former, I think having a zoom helps as they move closer and farther, but primes will do too, I've used both. From your lenses, my pick would be the 100 macro, it's not the obvious choice but I've used it for sports enough times. Next the sigma zoom if there will be enough light, I doubt the other lenses will be long enough, but perhaps the setup will be very different from wrestling.

About technique, use the highest shutter speed you can to avoid blurred hands and feet, unless you want to show that intentionally. Most interesting stuff happens in a split second. ISO 12800 if you need to, if you're sharing online nobody will notice a bit of grain :)
