So, I tried this today with DA* 55mm. Problem after reassembling is that camera won't recognize or make contact with lens. All contacts are visible. Not sure what happened here. Any ideas?

Small, fast, or cheap lenses: How do Pentax and Fuji Systems Compare?

I don't own a Fuji system, but there's more to a lens than speed. Different people prioritize different things. Fuji 16mm = Fast and expensive (moderately sized), Pentax 15mm = slow, 1/2 the price, tiny. There's an argument for both. I am actually really attracted to Fuji, used to own the original X100. But, the sensor in the X-T1 had too many early issues. Oh, and I bought an RX1r.

I've decided that life is short and I want to try a new direction with my kit.

Prices are before actual shipping cost, please use Paypal.

Here's what I have, feel free to make an offer on anything:

Fujifilm X100: This is the silver version and has long since had the sticky aperture blades fixed by Fuji. Works great, in excellent condition. Has a couple of scuffs on corner of body, but otherwise flawless. Protective LCD screen has been on since purchase (the corner of the screen is chipped, but the LCD is untouched. Includes 3 batteries and a wasabi charger (in place of original, which needed some small piece to hold the battery...since lost). Also includes original cap (has small scratch on front) and a replacement ebay vented lens hood that matches body. It’s already been upgraded to Firmware 2.0 and it’s a nice upgrade of autofocus.
Asking: Stolen

Pentax DA 35mm f2.8 Macro Limited: In very good shape as well, includes caps and pouch.
Asking: $400

Pentax DA 50mm f1.8 : Like new condition, includes original box, caps, and I’ll throw in a generic collapsible rubber hood for it.
SOLD

Pentax A 50mm f1.7: In very good condition, includes original front cap and a 49mm screw in vented hood.
SOLD

Pentax M 85mm f2 : In good condition, including original front cap, original clip-on hood. It has some rub marks on the body, but glass is clean. Missing the little plastic half-sphere used for grip when attaching lens to camera.
Asking: $225

Pentax FA 43 or DA 35 Macro?

Yes, I'd say that if you're referring to outdoor landscapes. Again, the 43 has a distinct look that I think is better suited to people and street photography.

Pentax FA 43 or DA 35 Macro?

Owned the DA 35, thought it was amazing, but lusted after speed. Sold it for the 43. Liked it quite a bit, but it doesn't do colors or handle tougher situations (contrast in certain lighting, for instance) so I traded it to get another 35. The DA is a better lens at more things, and there's only a stop difference in speed. The "pixie dust" talk is just a difference in rendering that some prefer, while others don't. For me, I like it for some portrait stuff. For landscapes, I wasn't a fan of the 43.

I've owned both, but would have a hard time answering that. I think the 35 is a little more contrasty, and can handle flare, etc, better. The 43 is a touch sharper. For street, the 35 gives you a slower focus. The 43 gives you a stop more speed.

The only reason I don't rate this "like new" is a very faint wear mark on the edge of the lens cap. The lens itself is like new.

New Cameras....What are Your Plans?

If it was a 50mm equivalent on the X100 I would have no use for it. In fact, anything but a 20-28 wouldn't work. I generally have the 21 Ltd glued to my camera when I travel, but I was wanting a bit faster than f3.2. I got the Siggy 24 f1.8, but it's huge for walking around. The Fuji just happened to hit the sweet spot for me, and I totally understand why it would be limiting for so many. I've been talking myself out of it since it was released, but it's time to face the truth...I will have one.
